Revisited Undead Asylum Oddity
Has anyone else ever noticed that when you return to the UA and descend down to the area where the peculiar doll is, there's consistently the sound of something moving in the water? It sounds like footsteps, like somethings walking around in it. I've noticed it the last couple of times I've been there and I'm looking around right now and it doesn't seem like there are any other areas with water in them nearby where something obvious could be making them. Any ideas?

Ghosts!
But really, I should start playing with the volume higher and turn down my music.

Depending on the game I generally prefer to listen to the game. If I'm playing like a shooter online I can listen to music but for games like DkS I like to hear the game.

Never mind. I'm an idiot. It's hollow Oscar walking around in his little room on the floor above.

At least you're attentive. I'v been there plenty of times and normally just run right in grab the doll and run right out.

It's always freaked me out a little bit. You can clearly hear it two floors below him. Being that far away its just not a connection I readily made.

Things like that just make this game all the more.

Actually I think it's pretty cool you noticed that and figured it out. I didn't. Now can you explain the footsteps outside the fog gate to the Kings?PlasticandRage wrote:Never mind. I'm an idiot. It's hollow Oscar walking around in his little room on the floor above.

Uhm, could it be the Darkwraith hidden in the right corner? (The one that comes out when you summon Beatrice)

That's probably me, loitering outside the gate 'cos I'm too scared to go in.

Strange thing is... I always stab him too. But every time I return to the Asylum, there he is sloshing away in the water when I go pick up the doll... So he dies twice on every one of my playthroughs.Maneater_Mildred wrote:I always stab that guy at the start of the game to get sin to be invaded, so i have never heard those footsteps. :|

Well doesn't that make sense anyway? After he gives you the Estus and you walk away he dies regardless. You even get 100 souls from it. My question is: if you're stabbing him, for the purpose of accruing sin in order to be invaded, prevented him from appearing at the asylum as a hollow later, and as a result prevented you from getting the Crest Shield, wouldn't it make more sense to kill the Crestfallen Warrior instead? You don't get anything from him except complaining.

Re: Revisited Undead Asylum Oddity
There is another creepy noise I always hear in new londo, after draining the water if you stand infront of the fake wall with titanite chunk or near the stables there is this reverberating noise. It is so creepy, I'm not sure if its just ambient noise or if something specific is making it.
Perhaps its the left over noise from those masses with the pikes in their mouth. Since I only ever hear it where they used to be.

Re: Revisited Undead Asylum Oddity
I actually think I know what that is. I've spent probably a combined 60 hours of farming dark wraiths for slabs and sometimes when you kill them ,when they're using their dark hand to block, the game skews the sound of the dark hand shield a little and continues to make it.

Plastic you are the master of logic.
The first thought that came to my mind on what that sound was: "OH MY GOD GET ME OUT OF HERE! I AM SURROUNDED! /homebone"
EDIT: if you still need slabs I have a ton.

Nah I'm cool too. Thank you though. New Londo is creepy like that anyway. Atmosphere wise it's probably my favorite area of the game.

I just stab him because it's quicker than having to listen to his whole dialog!PlasticandRage wrote:Well doesn't that make sense anyway?
