Re: Random Off-Topic
Yeah, I got stuck on the divine dragon spirit cause I couldnt gget past those wires where the energy knocks you off (I was 9 too). Although I had like 10 files only that one got past the divine dragon. I only fought it the one time I beat it. I was too scared to try again since I spent 75% of the fight with my entire party under fear. I started a new game last yearish and got up to the city of law with ease but then I got a PS3 and havent played it since.

Re: Random Off-Topic
Play it right now, start afresh on your PS3 seriously.
It made me so happy when I started playing it again, it was unbelievable
The one thing I've never done is give faust a shot, so this time I'm collecting all the stardust (with a little help from the internet, though it's generally easy to find them) and trying to kick his ***, though I think if I'm gonna kill him I'll need 3 legend casques and 3 of those shield accessories which reduces magic damage by half, which costs a good 45000 gold in total :|

You two are dangerously close to making this thread "random no more."

Skare, i must beg the question; What is more random than talking about a game noone has ever heard of?
However, lets inject some random fuel into this V8 of a thread, Who are your favourite support characters on games?
I don't mean lead roles, or even people you play as/with. I mean guys you meet who you love, but are totally irrelevant to anything.
Mine have to be: The general on hogs of war, the mask shop guy on zelda, headmaster Cid on Final Fantasy VIII, Ken the Lawyer on GTA Vice City

Re: Random Off-Topic
It started off random but after thirty pages of discussion or so I think it became a pretty focused thread
Hyperbole!
For your question: Cheshire Cat from American McGee's Alice.

I'll go with a Literary Figure! Tom Bambadil, one of my favourite characters ever.
An almighty god more powerful than Sauron, and all he wants to to is *** around in a forest.
There are too many to count, but a favourite recent one of mine is Paarthorax, that dragon in Skyrim. Most of the other characters are incredibly one dimensional, but that guy I can just relate to so well.

Love both if those dudes. I always side with the Greybeards over the Blades because the Blades always want me to kill Paathurnax - eff that, man.
And I'm still bitter Bombadil hasn't made into any of the movies.

I thought the character of Tom Bombadil was interesting but......don't kills meee........
I didn't feel like it added anything to the story except more pages.

Tolkien's obsessive description of things added enough pages already. I think Tom should appear somewhere, even if it's only a cameo.

Re: Random Off-Topic
That's true but at least he obsessively described things that flowed with the rest of the story. Tom Bombadil always felt like a random interruption to me. Especially since there's pretty much no tie in later down the line in the story. It'd be like Dorothy and Toto land on the witch in their house. They get out and the munchkins do their thing and they start off down the road. Out of the blue.....here's a kindly old talking raccoon. They sit and have tea with the raccoon who offers no advice on the road, the land or any of it's inhabitants and off Dorothy and Toto go until they reach The Scarecrow (who is surprisingly bada** by the way if you didn't know).
Also for the record, I thought the movies were better. One of the very few instances in which I would say this. Tom isn't the only time Tolkien interrupts himself, he's just one of the worst offenders in my opinion.

I applaud you all, I have not signed in for 11 days and in that time you all managed to make a further 20 or so pages of posts since then. I am impressed, though I will not be reading through all of that .

The days are all merging together so its hard to remember >.<.
I mostly just needed a break from the forums, I was finding that I would be spending hours on here daily, and I wasn't doing much else sometimes .

They morphed him into Fangorn/Treebeard. Kind of disappointing, but it made it a lot easier to watch the extended editions for all 3 movies without a break.
