How did the Witch of Izalith created the Flame of Chaos?

I think the Large Flame Ember was involved in its creation. Ancient rites, Chaos feeding on Humanity, Rite of Kindling....

Presumably she attempted to re create the conditions that originally created the first flame. The large flame ember was originally in new londo but couldve been stolen and brought there so its possible. The rite of kindling is Nito's but that to cpould have been stolen.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about her ill-fated cooking series. On the bright side, I now have a craving for some capra stew. I'll have to grab my cauldron and head down to the bed of chaos room, the bonfires just aren't hot enough. You need actual archtree wood for fires THAT hot.

So, to answer your question, I've looked a lot into this and listened intently on ENB's lore series, and heres what I remember. As the flames started to die, the Witch of Izalith decided she would try to recreate the first flame in order to continue the cycle. She tried using a soul and her own magic to create it based on what she knew from her lord soul. This, obviously, did not work, and ended up creating the Bed of Chaos.

What I'm guessing happened actually pertains to Velka, in its own way. Due to what Acid has said about Velka as the first firekeeper and how she wanted to end the cycle, I think she sabotaged the soul. Being the Goddess of "Sin", she must have known that the Lord Souls were pure souls, devoid of "Sin". She wanted to end the cycle, thus, sabotaging the soul that was used in the cloninng by making sure it was infused with sin. This caused the sin to multiply till it turned purely into chaos. If the soul was not tainted, it would have turned into a Lord Soul, pure and bright, but Velka couldn't let that happen, she wanted the age to end.

Can i ask why everyone assumes the rite of kindling belongs to nito? Technically its quite a way away from him.

Because the rogue pinwheel stole it from him.

In deed I believe the Rite of Kindling to be the power the occultists were trying to steal from Nito. The pinwheels happen to be the occultists who were either enslaved or made so they couldn'tt escape.

There should be a link to Nito/ the TotG in the item description. Also Reah and petrus travel to the TotG to find it. It must be linked to Nito somehow.
