painting guardian sword is beast
i always overlooked this sword but i recently thought id give it a go and oh my god!! yeah the range is pretty naff but the moveset is really good and unless your a parry pro your gonna have a hard time parrying due to the random combinations of moves you can do im in love

It's really strong, too. People often make the mistake of underestimating it, and they die very quickly! Also I love the bleed. When people turtle, it gets them to come out of their shell.

Re: painting guardian sword is beast
I use it with GMW, but most of the time I don't even apply it and it still tears people apart. At 40 Dex its AR is over 400. With DMB, you can get that to over 700--not bad at all for a tiny sword!

agreed, and when 2h it's faster too. i dont like dex weapon but the pgs is the only one i like, i like it so much that i gave dex another chance and that's all i use, dual pgs.

Re: painting guardian sword is beast
I would dual wield them just for the look... but I'm toying with the idea of wielding a notched whip in my offhand now. The whip also deals bleed, parries just like bare fists, and can't be parried--it's absolutely perfect for those awkward fights where both you and your opponent just get into parry-spamming. Both roll-parry at the same time? Try it again and you'll get a notched whip in the face! Let's see if they keep parry spamming after a few of those.RantFromRant wrote:agreed, and when 2h it's faster too. i dont like dex weapon but the pgs is the only one i like, i like it so much that i gave dex another chance and that's all i use, dual pgs.
PGS & Notched Whip, I have a feeling, is going to become my favorite setup!

Re: painting guardian sword is beast
thats pretty awesome, im totally in love with this sword, i used it once in my first play through but its skills were just lost on me, now ive gotten completely in tune with it, if someone attack rolls i can side step and launch an r2 attack for nealry 1000 damage with dmb, and then follow up with sum r1 before they can even react

Re: painting guardian sword is beast
Hmm... Maybe I'll bring it to 120 like this: http://tinyurl.com/88ajqs3
(Only problem is weight. I'd have to cast CMW, then un-equip the TCC to be under 25%.)
Edit: life is so much easier with the OP DWGR: http://tinyurl.com/86bwwev

Re: painting guardian sword is beast
I went with Int first because I wanted to use GMW at 15, and chameleon at the same time. I played around with the character builder, though, and I think they're about the same. At SL120, with all the other stats the same, you can have 32 Int or 30 Fth. And at those levels, CMW and maxed DMB give almost the same amount of buff.
@32 Int: TCC has 254 Mag Adj x 1.4 for CMW = 355.6 buff
@30 Fth: Canvas Tali has 172 x 2.1* for DMB = 361.2 buff
*Max DMB is 2.1, right?
Of course, if you went with Fth, you get access to WoG too...

Re: painting guardian sword is beast
i too agree the pgs is very underused and often underestimated,but you cant ignore its range. You really have to be careful not to go to far into the combos or your opponent will just back away and smash your face with a greatsword.
