Baller side sword duelist: My new build, no buffs!

Ok I think I've finally figured out what my new build is going to be. I think. Any changes you recommend?

Hornet ring + balder side sword isn't OP, gives me a way to increase my damage output which actually requires some skill. The rapier and the pyromancy is in case of gankers.

EDIT: Changed the name of the thread so people stop thinking pyromancy is the focus of the build. Sorry for being misleading.

I would decrease vitality to 50. Past that you only get 10 HP per point which is a huge waste in my opinion. I'd assign the rest of the points to att and get lots and lots of spells. You could have like 3 Great Combustions, another Chaos Storm, and maybe a Chaos Great Fireball.

what wyrm said, i like it a lot, pure builds are awesome. just put more points into att so you get more pyromacies, why would you called it a chaos build and only have one pyromancy.

The name was a spur of the moment thing lol. Honestly, although I agree that it's more efficient to go get some more ATT slots, I've overused pyromancy in my time with the game, and it has become a crutch.

This did get me thinking about a more efficient use for the points though. This alternative build has a buff but I'm thinking of only using it if my opponent buffs.

WotG + rapier for ganks, SLB to counter other buffs.

wisp looks good, only suggest also using leo ring more than hornet. you are using two thrusting weapons! maybe swapping, if opponent is someone you can trade blows with go leo, if ur just gonna parry then hornet. im runnin bss with leo and the 2hand r2 on counter hits between 500-700 dmg, depending on armor! no buff needed.

I agree with the other guys. Build looks good, I'd just go for more slots. My 225 is a pure dex/pyro build and it has eight slots. Having that many options is AWESOME. I also stacked endurance to have all my gear and still fast roll, but I only did that because I went to 225 and I wanted to keep it a pure build.

Red tearstone ring - Hornet ring - OHKO Parry/Backstab - it is looked down upon by community - MoM also is pointless - 15% extra life to look completely ugly and become a min maxer - not worth it imo

You get counter hits if you attack and connect while the enemy is also attacking. You'll see a little blue spark letting you know you got it. Counters do a pretty good amount of extra damage.

RTSR is Red Tearstone Ring. Extra damage when health falls below twenty percent.

Hornet ring on a balder side sword isn't a one hit kill vs most SL120 builds, and the Balder's normal attacks are pretty weak for this range too. Like I said the rapier is only there incase I run into gankers. And honestly i don't mind the way MoM looks. Again it's there to save me from gankers.

Swap the mask for a sack and swap some vit for more att and this toon would be awesome.

Praise the sack yeah my only non sack toons are my MiT toon(pharis +10) and my knoble night onion head toon(soon to be a dragon slayer when i lvl up to 120)

I don't really want to be pyro heavy, where else can I invest stats? And ideas?

Faith or Int, switch the elemental weapon for a normal or crystal one and buff it.

I think you'd enjoy this build more if it had more versatility. Here's what I recommend:

- Instead of the Hornet's Ring, use the Ring of Favor
- This'll allow you to bring your Vit to 50, take off that silly mask, and have almost the same amount of HP as you do now.
- With the 15 points you now freed up, you can get yourself more Str and End.

Then you can use your Str and End to swap weapons and armors on a whim.

hey wisp, still workin out all the conditions on bss counter. but... you have to land a thrust attack just b4 opponent lands a hit. if your facing each other you do trade blows, but yours is more. if you hit predict, roll to side thrust they will miss you and you will counter. also if they are dashing attack is when i hit around 700 dmg.
the numbers i gave you are on a 40/40 build. i run leo and rofap rings, 12 poise(pants).
non hornets riposte does around 700 dmg.
super fun play, but you gotta work for it so if you land a parry/ riposte, couple of counters and mash a few r1's your in. weeeeee.

Since a riposte is a counter, does the Leo effect that?

A riposte is a critical. Same with backstabs.

Cool.

BTW, I'm riposting for 750ish with the hornet ring on, i think that's about fair.
