    Minecraft Thread Empty Minecraft Thread

Post by Chaos Spectre Thu May 10, 2012 5:33 am

Welp, I had a free 1600 msp today, and got Minecraft on the xbox. Jumping in to see what the buzz was about, I just got off 30 mins ago, and I started about 7 hours ago, I lost complete track of time.

It was very addictive and easy to get into. It gave me that Dark Souls feel as well. You die, and your inventory drops where you died, good luck getting it back if you were in a cave. This, and the enemies are just hard, they take forever to die and the only way to make it faster is bows, a sword, and a wolf. It was fun dealing with combat, but when rage enfueled, I got back to working on my log mansion.

Overall, it was enjoyable. Woulda been better with more people, but my gf is gonna play with me next time so I can have more fun lol.

I would say spend the 20 bucks and get it if you can.

Now the hard part, micro-managing time between Minecraft and Dark Souls. I should probably finish my covenant research before I go to minecraft.

PS: Patch number is Beta 1.6.6, so dont expect npc villages, baby animals, forest biomes, or dragons just yet. All in good time.

Yeah, I just messed with it some as well and had a blast. Still just as fun back when I was able to play on PC. I hear you can have up to at least 4 people at once, and I've finally got one of my roommates into it, and I would totally try to join up with you but I'm still on freaking silver, but my roommate has gold so maybe I could slip under the radar Minecraft Thread 3358384175

Also your stuff disappears after a set time, so if you die a long way from where you respawn it may not even be worth trying to go get it. Roommate just lost a crap ton of stuff behind my castle....

It is fun and addicting. And once you get bored you can try the challenges like nuclear winter. If you can get a server going with a few friends it also is SPfunx100 though then SP becomes a little boring.

Yeah, I didn't remember that from back when I was playing. Kinda took us by surprise as I'm the one answering all the questions.

Oh and the invisible invincible enemies thing was awesome. We both died maybe 5 times in his mine before I googled how you fix that.

Serious, you should try it. Minecraft is really addicting.

I doubted minecraft way back when, but got into terraria. Meanless to say, i went back to the roots and loved it, it was like a modern day legos. I spent a good 100 or so hours on terraria before my comp blew, now im gonna be puttin that time in minecraft.

If its not your thing serious, i seriously suggest trying out terraria. Its way more in depth combatwise than minecraft

Been playing it on the pc since october 2010. The game wears on you if you only want to build big things and you have no help.

Good news then, terraria needs less than Minecraft does lol. Its basically a 2d sidescrolling adventure game with a randomly generated world.

This game interests me but do you have to play online to get the best out of it. I only have silver membership on XBox and have no intention of going Gold.

I wouldn't say it takes away from it much, but then I perfer to play my minecraft alone.

I'm sad it's in the beta patches, I should have known something was up since it all looked the same since I last played it. I do want to build a TNT cannon though and it seems that it is possible to do so, still need to see if I can make one.

Also I've crashed my game twice by pressing Y to take a screenshot and then backing out of the menu. Does this happen to anyone else?

I play on a server with only a group of my rl friends. Makes a pretty fun environment happy

I don't get all crazy like the guys who make computers and TVs on YouTube or whatnot, but I was the lead redstone user of the server. I designed security systems, traps, and even lighting systems for people big grin

EDIT: Should mention I play on PC winking

Oh man, Minecraft. I haven't played this in about 7 months. I think I rage-quit after having stuck with a server for months and having built a fully functioning self containing castle with a friend, which took weeks on end to make, only to have it destroyed by mods so that they could build a rail-track to god-knows where through it.

Why I perfer to play alone, my roommate has been co-oping with me and he has a glass house near the start. He's mostly just mined his way to the bedrock so I leech the stone and dirt for my own building projects.

Actually just fully explored my world today, found quite a few neat sites and places to stick stuff on. I even have a giant hole underneath a mountain that has sheer cliffs that would kill you outright and so dark I want to believe it goes all the way to the bedrock :affraid:

I managed to get my friend to give it a try, she played maybe 20 minutes of the tutorial but didn't really like the setup/graphics and instead got hooked into playing Harvest Moon again.
