Be unique, use a sraight sword. I love using them, and most have C C scaling. A personal favorite is the Darksword.

Washing Pole is best. it's not even a comparison, its effective one and 2 handed.
the Server and Murka you will hate it 1 handed, it might do more damage and might be slightly better because of that for PVE, but PVP washing pole will dominate.
Also to add weapons you woul be using 2 handed primarly anything past 27 strentgh is a waste. so to get full effect from 40/40 Washing pole which is awesome 1 handed is perfect.

for scaling purposes... a bastard sword or claymore... also a sunlight straight sword (same damage as darksword but lighter and does a thrust r2) also id recomend a compound bow and a demon spear as both of those have good double scaling.

murakumo,claymore/bastard sword,longsword,demon great machete.you really can use anything effectively at those stats .theres tons of options. i highly suggest using mugenmonkey to see which weapons will work best with your stats(just remember its calculated as if everything is upgraded to max).

I am currently using a +15 Darksword with my 40 Dex+Str Build, it's one handed r1 is quite fast and it's really easy to catch opponents with a counter due to the delayed start-up on the R2 spin. Buffed with various pine resins I have a very easy time taking out targets.
In short: A full recommendation to try it out, it's really fun to use!

Bit of a pain against spears and any weapon with a fast hit and long reach. Usually pair it with Demons spear for such cases...
Poor scaling tho, better with elemental builds for that which means rather low stat req. is also a bonus...

The trick for spears when it comes to spears is to roll towards the left or right side of the spearman, and use the roll attack. They'll whiff and you'll score a hit, hopefully staggering them. If that don't work get in close and 2h r2, if you poise through their hits you'll definitely break their poise.
