iit's no mirdan hammer but it can be used efficiently if you have the patience to learns it's pros and cons, i personally havent used it much but like everyone else says everything is viable for pvp, some are easier than others. from the time ive spent using it i had some good wins with it while invading in the catacombs, the reach is surprisingly good.

Halberds and other polearms have an advantage of range and speed. I would suggest the scythe instead.
