Re: average poise?
Yeah to stop ultra greatswords I think you need 76 but the MLGS needs an extra point of poise i.e. 77 before you can avoid getting stunlocked by it. Thats a guess Im not entirely sure.

53 poise (36 for 1-handed resists):
All Great Asian Swords 2h R1s
All Great Swords 2h R1s
All 1-handed Blunts 2h R1s
All 1-handed Axes 2h R1s
31 poise (21 for 1-handed resists):
All Asian Sword 2h R1s (and R2 in the case of Shotel)
All 1-handed Sword 2h R1s
All Katana 2h R1s (including Washing Pole)
All Great Scythe 2h R1/R2s
All Whip 2h R1s
All Large Spear (Partisan/Pike) 2h R1s
All Small Spear (Silver Spear/Winged Spear) 2h R1s
All Halberd/Pole 2h R1s (figured this would have been 53, but it wasn't).
8 poise (6 poise for 1-hand resists, or Fist Weapons):
All Rapier 2h R1s
All Dagger 2h R1s
All Fist Weapons R1s (although this is actually 6 since you can't 2-hand a Fist Weapon)

....the
ring alone can be a lifesaver. It is a necessity on my Dragon form. And
I use it on a number of other build to hit the magical 53, (covers
everything one handed and virtually everything 2 handed, other than big
things you should never let hit you anyway. :p ).
I loathe the DGWR, (looks SOOOOO stupid, lol), and only use it on one build. A ninja, (go figure)

Re: average poise?
The problem with the list is it is a generalization of all the weapons. And there are quite a few that I would call outliers. For example the MLGS.
MLGS actually hits for either 55 or 56 poise, can't remember which. That is why people think it has a crazy stunlock ability, but really it just stunlocks people that go for the 53 because they assume that their poise should prevent it. And don't forget you need to have one more poise than the hit you are taking to not be stunned.
Back OT. I am a forest hunter so I usually run with 77+ poise. Because usually I am dodging 2 people not just one.
