Re: A Test of Sorts...
I think Acidic is the type of person where seeking is the reward and usually in the end the answer just kinda falls into place. It's fun helping him look though. If you like those guys and are into "wistful" kinda music maybe you (or Acidic) might wanna check out Gill Landry and his Louisiana stylings. If you're still looking for suggestions Acidic I'll keep giving them. I haven't even started digging through the memory banks yet. If you want bat feces crazy and maybe a little down in the dumps (great pun you'll get in a minute) I recommend this song:

Re: A Test of Sorts...
Whiskey, for some reason I was listening to the Drift, and all of the sudden Donald Duck was in the last few minutes of the song. What the hell? It doesn't give me any form of attachment, sorry whiskey. Don't feel sad, don't feel dark. I am still not finished with that retro website ya showed me, Whiskey. Perhaps, later on, I will listen to more of those MP3s. But for now, it can wait. I listened to enough people. Surprisingly, the quality is not bad, except for one of the songs... I think it was highway or the one below it, that had a little static. Still, not finished with it.
I guess I should check Skare now.

Re: A Test of Sorts...
Skare, it seems that the man that is crazy seems to be an economist recycler to me. , If he is seen as insane, I must question the rest that are. It ain't sad or dark enough, Skare. The Fool of Lear might say something about it, eh?
Come on, Skare... I am sure you can do better. I am searching the tubes and other pages for songs.

Re: A Test of Sorts...
I can definitely do better. The Manson song was for kicks and he's insane for a couple things unrelated to the song more so than his lyrics. The Gill Landry advice was more for fearandwhiskey based on some of her recommendations to you. I'm at lunch at work so I'll kick through the Zune and see if anything jumps out.

I'll go check it out when you do. For now, I am searching for gothic music... which lead to somehow Cabin Fever by Clare Fader after about seven songs of going threw... its very comical.

Re: A Test of Sorts...
List from my Zune which is nowhere near all the music I could probably reference (or have on my computer/backup hard drive):
Artists then song/songs if applicable-
Pantera- Cemetary Gates
Amorphis- Silver Bride, From the Heaven of My Heart
Apocalyptica- Grace, Peace
Blue Oyster Cult- Astronomy, (I assume you've heard Don't Fear the Reaper)
The Cardigans- Losing my favorite game
Cold- No one
Corrosion of COnformity- Sleeping Martyr, Clean My Wounds
Damageplan- Blink of an Eye
Danzig- How the God's Kill, Johnny Cash's cover of their song Thirteen
Days of the New- Dirty Road
Deep Purple- Soldier of Fortune
Down- Stone the Crow
Harry Slash and the Slashtones- Huka Blues
Everlast- What it's like, Blinded by the Sun
Faith No More- Digging the Grave
Fear Factory- Replica, Invisible Wounds
Flaw- Recognize, Wait For Me, Not Enough
Helmet- Unsung
Henry Rollins- Drive By Shooting
Ill Nino- With You
Life of Agony- Angry Tree, My Mind is Dangerous
Metalium- Dust in the Wind
Monster Magnet- See you in Hell
Mudvayne- World So Cold
Muse- Falling Away With You, Knights of Cydonia
Nevermore- Insignificant, Believe in Nothing, The Sound of Silence (cover song), Sentient 6, Final Product, My Acid Words, Tomorrow Turned Into Yesterday
Powerman 5000- Even Superman Shot Himself
Rurouni Kenshin OST (forget if it's from the show or one of the movies)- War of the Last Wolves
Scorpions- Wind of Change
Sonata Arctica- Still Loving You (Scorpions cover)
Suicidal Tendencies- I Saw Your Mommy
System of a Down- Chop Suey!
Testament- Return to Serenity, The Ritual
Trivium- Ascendancy
Twiste Sister- The Price
Type O Negative- Red Water (Christmas Mourning), pretty much anything by these guys
The Union Underground- Revolution Man
Virgos Merlot- Gain
Vreid- Alarm
Tried to get some variety in there for you and this is a short list of what's on the Zune. I figured once you heard a song or two from a band you could look deeper into them if you wished. All of these are dark, sad or both. I can go much much darker but likely at the risk of some decrease in talent or style. As for sad, I think between the group of us looking we've hit some of the saddest songs known to man. It's just gonna come down to which one you connect with but I'm more than willing to keep tossing ideas out there since I love music.

Re: A Test of Sorts...
Well, Skare, I am listenin' to grace right now. I want to put on my suit of armour and a sword, and charge to battle.
A long list to go, though. Perhaps I may find it, but I seemed good right now. I was getting Angry and Drowsy after I had to listen to thirty seconds till mars, or whatever

Screw you, Tina Fey, Madagascar, and all those crappy commercials.
My mind listens to a Song, then I have to hear them repeat over and over. My mind is getting an ache from commercialism. Ugh.

Lol....Sorry. Thought you had said some sort of praise for them once. Maybe it was a Big Mac reference which would be McDonald's and maybe not you I was thinking of. We talk a lot about food here. Regardless, cake for the win.

Velvet is always the best:
I am listening to 'Blink of an Eye' Right now... interesting. Still no attachments yet of Dark or Sad. It is a pretty big list, though.

I'm more of a vanilla or spice guy with various filling myself. Red Velvet is delicious though. As is chocolate, devil's food, funfetti, yellow cake, white cake, lemon.......

Re: A Test of Sorts...
Trust me, there are a lot of good cakes.
Of course, there are also a good amount of bad ones as well... can't remember which ones, but usually it is due to the content on the cake has too much, too little, or is off on something.

Yeah, bad cooks = bad cakes. Since we're on the subject again I used to be shocked when someone didn't know the difference between white cake and vanilla cake. Now I'm used to the confusion but wonder about the state of the world when we don't cover the basics like this very well.

Me too. Good thing it's my one year anniversary on Monday. The place we ordered our cake through offered an anniversary cake deal. Basically, instead of you freezing your top layer they replicate it for you the next year. I'm picking it up Saturday.

Re: A Test of Sorts...
I am almost slipping into a sleep. I think I need a break. My mind can't handle this any more.
I will listen to Down- Stone of Crow, when I continue. I should remember that. Deep Purple made me feel sleepy... commercials just make me ache to stop. Maybe I can get to my friends house today. It is my break, so might as well get a drink and watch him scream (, he won't see what I got on my USB stick until it is too late ). Alright, I'm a call some people. I'll be right back
