Did you know that Japanese people are the most polite racists you will ever meet? When my friend went there he said that there weren't many obvious signs of racism as everyone in Japan is polite, but it is usually subtle things. Of course, that's not saying every Japanese person is racist, but you can't really tell who is because they all act the same.

The same thing could be said for a lot of Asian cultures, bloodpixel. I know for Japan, they make it extremely difficult for foreigners to obtain citizenship. Even if you marry a Japanese citizen you will only get a spouse visa, and you will never have the right to vote. Ever. Your children will be Japanese citizen through their Japanese parent, but yeah...

Korea is also very xenophobic, but they are less polite about it...

With that said, I really don't think this applies to everybody, but it's the sad truth and general trend in a lot of Asian countries. I also think it's mostly because there is a lot of National pride and homogeneity in Asia. Unlike in North America where we have a more diverse population.

Japan is like that? :| That's a pretty stark difference to Britain I must say.

Just have to live here for 5 years (3 if you get married) and then you have rights exactly same as someone like myself who was born here. Then again we have most diverse population on earth so it's just the standard

Remember that Japan is very new to international endeavors, joining the game in the 1800s

I mean to put it in perspective, back then the slave trade was still legal and Britain still owned America's initial 13 states (and had the largest empire in history)

Thing is, it wouldn't work. We'd just be in someone else's back pocket instead of america from subsequent invasion.

Depends what your goal was. To incite WWIII You'd drop one on america, russia and china respectively.

Of course any aliens we met would be hostile. I mean they know how bad we are with dealing with people who are only superficially different imagine getting along with a whole other intelligent species I think not!
