Why? WHY? He is the awesomest (great spelling) guy in the manga. He wears a coat made out of pink flamingo feathers. He runs a slave trade. Even the higher ups in the World Government want him on their side. Not to mention he looks awesome as a child.
The only characters that come close to him are Trafalgar Law, Kizaru, Enel and Marco.

lol, he owns a slave trade? I can't remember that :| But thing is to me I can't enjoy characters if they're too much of a enigma.. well if they haven't been laid out and shown by the manga.. For favourite of the warlords (that we know of, still some we don't know after timeskip), it's gotta be Law yeah, he's pretty cool though I always liked hawkeye too.
I thought Enel wasn't that good, though Marco I agree is, his power is really cool, even though we haven't seen it's full extent.

It was stated that he owned the slave trade at the archipelago, the island with all those bubbles.
I like characters who are enigmas. We don’t know anything about him. How strong he is, which side he stands on. etc.

Well it's clear he's pretty damn strong lol, he had one of the higher bounties of the warlords if I remember? But oh right, I don't like him now I like the fishmen

I admit that's a possibility. There's been a number of references through out that his technique 2nd gear actually slowly kills him. That may eventually happen to protect someone, dunno who though.
