Digital, is your avatar suppose to be a symbol of Olympics in Tron? I can't seem to see what it is exactly...

It's actually the universal music or sound symbol isnide what was the hammer and sickle before I removed it. I made it years ago and stuck with it

I'm about to crash any second, but for the time being, I present Retrupurae!

It's mystery Science theater, but made by the guy who essentially created Let's Play. They instead watch terrible video game Let's plays, and criticize them.

I still don't understand why any bloke likes watching colourful ponies dance around a screen preaching about friendship, but each to his own. I just find it hard to grasp still that their might even be hundreds of thousands.
I'm also still trying to figure out if bronies actually do like the show, or if they're just saying they do in order to troll us all.
The show may be cheesy sometimes, or have some missed potential here and there, but it's still a lovely, smart and funny show. It's got character development I haven't seen anywhere else, combined with actually likeable protagonists.
I do like the show. It's not my absolutely favourite show of all time - but it's one of the shows I'm glad I took the time to watch.

thing for me i don't understand is how it can be 'smart' or have such incredible character development, when in the end it's a show about talking ponies doing things that are meant to teach little girls lessons.
i also cannot fathom that the fandom expands into the millions. i mean are you telling me that something like my little pony is more popular and appealing to men than something like dark souls? :|

Well at least I can hope those millions are learning moral lessons so many never get taught these days. I guess Dark Souls is so overwhelmingly manly that many people just can't take it...

Re: Brony Thread
I love Dark Souls. I love history. I like cooking. I love writing. Things you like don't necessarily have to be related.
If on one episode, one of them decides they actually like reading a book, be sure you'll see them on a later episode reading somewhere in the background. It's just a simple example.
Thing is, the fact that the series is using ponies as their main characters is just a by-product of the fact that they are working for Hasbro. Faust knew what she was doing, and fought for some liberties within her planned script.
Whether it is with ponies, cats or dogs; the script is good enough to hold its own.
A good many times, the relationships the characters develop actually make me care about them, or their lines make me laugh more than I'd like to admit. It's a great show, and not only because it goes against the cliché-ridden series kids got today.
The way it "teaches" lessons is kind of misleading. You should compare preachy cartoons of the 90's and the 80's to the FiM aesops. He-Man would go all awkward on you, telling you to tell your rabbi, priest, parents or tutors if you were ever sexually abused.
Captain Planet would go and say contamination is bad, but would never explain the reason of why it happens. It would just stop at "Bad people contaminate! AND IT IS EVIL!". There, full stop.
Also, that south americans have silly, native names and the power of Heart.
Different-to-the-norm characters would be reduced to that. The handicapped guy's only character trait would be to be handicapped.
Is there a person you don't like because he's a jerk? HAH, it's YOUR problem! You only have to be nice to him and you should see how it changes.
So I guess it's a pretty nice jump forward in terms of quality, same as Phineas & Ferb.
Once again, it's not the best show ever. It's just a really good show that I enjoy a lot.
Also, it's kind of hilarious when you realize new people go into the Off Topic Section and found YOU were the guy who created the Brony thread.

Not to reply to your wall of text with an annoyingly short response, but PHINEAS AND FERB IS SO AWESOME. As long as people enjoy the show, and as a bonus learn from it, then I have no problem with anyone. Hell, I've seen enough weird fetishes to know that everyone is entitled to enjoy what they like (Not that MLP is a fetish of course).

Yup. I still think P&F is better than FiM, if only because they don't have an age restriction to what they can use in the show.

Re: Brony Thread
Well my dad loves F&P too, so you know it must appeal to all ages.
Now I should put this in the offtopic thread, but I'd rather not bother changing pages, so does anyone know how I can covert a MIDI to a guitar tab? I'm learning Night of Knights after leaving it for so long but I can't find the tab I want in actual tab/PDF format.

Re: Brony Thread
i have no idea what you said then azran, but generally all childrens tv has some form of moral lesson in it, at least british series do.
i just think maybe bronies just find things in the episodes that weren't really intended beyond what was said. you all say that there's all these deeper meanings and such when maybe the writers had no intention of writing that in, you just found it could be interpreted like that and go with it. i have the same kind of issues with stuff like lord of flies, all these metaphorical meanings of stuff, when maybe he just wanted to show how bad kids are when left alone..
