I'm confused

If so many of you swear by the mid roll or regular fast roll and how awesome it is, how then is the dwgr OP?

Just curious, because if the regular rolls are so awesome, then the dwgr isn't OP, because it switches you to the less awesome roll, which would be a disadvantage balanced by increased movement speed.

Logic and such, I will kill the thread if it becomes a bashing session.

Cause they die to flippers, because they are the most common.

But thats on the player, not the item. Either the dwgr grants a distinct advantage over players without it, unbalancing the game, or it doesn't. Its an absolute state.

Because you can be iced-out in the strongest armors in the game whilst still maintaining max roll speed. Sounds like a pretty strong ring to me.

For regular fast roll, you have to make more sacrifices. I don't use mid roll all that much so I won't comment on it.

People like to make easy judgements.

But if the regular fast roll is superior, why does it matter what they're wearing? They get to keep the movement speed, but get an inferior dodge. Seems balanced to me.

Meh, I just don't like the fact that it has no originality with it also. I prefer to stand out from the crowd and roll rather than flip

it is unbalanced(not op) because it can give you the best poise and some of the strongest defence without sacrificing much in terms of points, specially in lower levels like sl 10.

Who is saying the fast roll is far superior?

And I prefer the fast roll for the look of the animation, but that has nothing to do with functionality.

Can't comment on mid roll though.

mid roll can be just as good as fast roll since there is no time difference from swinging your weapon then dodging right after, the only difference is that its slower but it takes some getting used to which is why people dont use it that much.

I prefer not be different just to be different. If I'm different its for a purpose beyond trying to feel unique or seeking attention.

On topic though, my point is, as individuals, choose. Either the regular rolls are better, so the dwgr is balanced because the get an inferior dodge for fast movement, or the flip is better, and the dwgr is over powered.

There is no middle ground. From here on anyone I see talk about how good the regular rolls are, gets told off if they mention "flip tanks" in a negative context.

Flip>regular I believe in terms of I frames. I have been hit while medium rolling however when pressed up against a tree I have spammed B and survived multiple swings from a BKGA (till I got away) and the movement speed.

My motto is: Don't be a follower just be an individual - if noone used DWGR I probably would use it as an attempt to stand out - idk xD

i think its just depends on the build, str builds almost always have to go with the flip ring, dex rarely need the flip ring unless theyre stacking poise which a lot of them do, i see guys with full havels and a rapier all the time lol, in the end it doesnt even matter since most people will bs you with the hornet ring for a ohko anywaym specially in the burg.

@Teh, being an individual isn't being different, its thinking for yourself. Sometimes thats doing what everyone else does, sometimes its ignoring everyone and doing something different.

Prefering a fast roll asthetically has nothing to do with its functionality. Additionally, just because someone prefers one thing about fast roll, like a quicker backstep, it doesnt negate the positives of the DWGR.

Ultimately, the conversation is old. We've all made our cases for and against it, so lets move on.

I'm not debating wether or not its OP, I'm telling the community, as individuals, to pick a side instead of talking up regular rolls 1 minute, then talking about the OPness of the dwgr the next. I don't care which side, nor do I care wether or not anyone posts theirs, only that the double standard dies.

but yeah double standards are inevitable since Pro's and con's depend on the rest of your loadout.
