My theory. Creatures that disappear are those who contain a large portion of souls or are illusions. Some Silver Knights and the giant Sentinents are illusions. Others like the Black Knights and the Sen's Giants contain a large portion of souls. These can be categorized as soul creatures. Bosses for example are of this type. Gwynevere is the illusion type, for example.

Nope. You can get it down to about 1/4 health I think and it flies off. Though Im not sure anyone has tried ggetting down low then ttrying a bid one shot thing. I'll have to ask amos to use his new build.

I've used a red tearstone, power within, two handed lemon buffed great scythe attack on the crow and nearly taken the whole bar but that was in NG++ so perhaps I should have tried in NG.

Some of these explanations make sense, I honestly think that FROM simply didn't put that much thought into it. For example, why does Eingyi's dead body sort of respawn, besides to make you feel even more guilty when you warp to Daughter of Chaos. I am happy though that certain enemies leave their bodies around. Dead Big Mushrooms, Big Rats, Channelers, and Basilisks are all soooooo fun to play with wearing the flip ring.

Eingyi, Andre, Undead Merchant, Female Undead Merchant. I think that Vamos's bones might be scattered around as well. Any more?
