Ive been experimenting with this build for a week now ,

I really wanted to make a viable build incorporating dual bonewheel shields and after trying out several setups I came to the conclusion that I will benefit the most from using melee only.

Using miracles or pyromancy just didn''t suit the playstyle I had in mind , plus I had to suffer with low hitpoints from pumping attunement & faith , along with the insane endurance.

With this setup I have several options & combo's during combat to use both shields to their maximum potential., and I make perfect use of the stats Ive invested in.

The Demon's Spear looks awesome on this build and allows for excellent use of the right handed bonewheel shield , I hate the lightning effect though :|

Attack simultaniously , do a lot of rolling for fun, don't rely on the GLS and the Spear !

    Enjoy.,

this is what i would do and i sometimes do with my str build http://tinyurl.com/7ydqr6h
the strong r2 one handed of the golem axe looks just like the attack of the bone shield whcih will confuse your oppponent and rush you or get back thinking youre gonna attack with the bonewheel only to get knocked on their asses by the wind attack of the golem axe, i love this combo and works pretty well, try it andsee what you think.

Thanks for your input man , I love mindgames ! :cyclops:

Ive never tried using the Golem Axe before & Im not sure if I would like to use it .

I used a lot of weapons allready , but my large club build is actually my first real strength build ever.

I tested out a lot of strength weapons a while ago but the LC was the only one to make it passed the ''test-phase''

I def want to use more of them in the future though !

im surprised the MSGS didnt pass the test, imo its the best gs in the game. most of my builds are str builds, try the DGM, DGA and GA, those are some of my favourite weapons in the game.

The Golem Axe is good. Heavy for a regular axe, but good at what it is nonetheless. Its R2 attack two handed seems to do almost the same damage as the R1 attack two handed, which is strange (although adds more poise damage, making enemies stagger easy... with less speed to hit, being the downside of any heavy hitter).

IMO, the Man-Serpent Greatsword is by far the best at what it is, and that is a sword that is pure strength. For a strength build, the Serpent Greatsword is a good one to use for anything instead of the other Greatswords... even more so than some of the Ultra-Greatswords as well that scaling is off to two instead of pure strength.

I prefer the Dragon King Greataxe of any axe, and the Demon Great Hammer for a great hammer... others have not been acceptable in my use of them, unfortunately.

Oh man the DGM looks gruesome , I really love it & im going to use it for sure , but it sucks that it doesn't have many moves 😢

it's R2 is a jumping attack if i remember correctly ., and both rolling attacks are pokes right ?

I had a claymore build before testing out the MSGS and I thought it was too similar and plain ., it looks amazing though and ManSerpants are really cool

Thanks for your input & elaboration ! What about the Large Club for a hammer ? I absolutely love it man!

Axes aren't really my thing because I'm more of a ''moveset+combo's+mindgames kind of guy. I think that's why I haven't looked much into the larger axes before.

I find the Large Club's R2 swing that is a sweep and then a throw upwards is too... I guess it is just too slow. it has a good amount of crowd control for the first swing, however the second swing is just... most scenarios seem to show no favour. The smash on the ground two handing it is also too slow and not the same as the Demon Great Hammer.

I dislike Great Axes. The Black knight, Regular, and Demon Great Axe just seem to be unable to satisfy my strenght premise. The Dragon Great Axe is as fast as the Demon Great Axe, and when surrounded can use a force attack that I have beside my Demon Great Hammer when facing multiple enemies (which I have found the weak force it has increases in strength greater than the actual base damage when upgraded). The Demon Great Hammer has reach, unlike most Hammers, a smooth swing motion (although indeed not the fastest), and the AOE attack of it is bigger than most excluding Smoughs. Sadly, Smoughs looks horrible and the reach seems too small (and the moveset is off putting). The Demon Great Hammer has a moveset meant to be directed to one enemy (or at least a bunch of enemies in one pocket). Other heavy weapons... they never seem to fill the strenght I look for. The three weapons, the Axe of a Dragon, the Hammer of an Arch tree, and a sword of a serpent... those are my main three heavy weapons in use. Ultra Greatswords, other Greatswords, and other Greatweapons do not do it well for me.

Ironically, I like all curved greatswords that are there... heavy weapons that require dexterity instead of strength, and I never really upgrade dexterity ever... usually leads towards elemental and faith scaling upgrade paths for them. Due to the lack of dexterity I ever go up to, i stay away from the murko and its surpub scaling compared to other curved swords, and stay with the server (that leeches health) and gravelord sword (which toxifies enemies).

the rolling poke attack is all you need from the DGM, make sure you never roll towards them or you will get parried, i find rolling to the side even if locked on gets a dead angle most of the times.
@acidic i get why you like the DGH i love that thing but dont knock the DGA or GA, their r1 swing is just as good as the great hammers, specially the DGA since it has surprisingly good range and its pure str power.

edit; forgot to mention how their swings are better for tight quarters like the cats since it slams into your opponent as opposed to the wide arc the ugs have shich sometimes bounce off the wall at the worse possible moment.

We all have our preferences, RantFromRant, no disrespect. I tried the Demon great Axe and Great Axe before, and they are just.... not my thing. They look cool, I can say that with ease, however the weapon's movesets are just not what I am looking for; GA is too small for my taste, and the Demon Great Axe R2 attack is.... unliking.

    We all have our preferences

Fortunately yes., otherwise we wouldn't have much too discuss , or to ask one another who see's things from a different perspective. It's nice to read about everybody's preferences from their point of view , perhaps we can try incorporating one of these things ourselves.

As for the DGM., I def want to pair it up with a different left handed weapon which looks the part ., and compliments the DGM , so no rapiers and such., at the very least a longsword cause it swings pretty fast and has nice reach aswell... doesn't look so gruesome though :pale:

And I want to make use of that R2 bounce

Because it is too brown, grey, and green... similar to the hollow thief armour. Basilisk is more grey and black. Wanderer Coat has no form of Black... that, and it has fur. Basilisks are not furry.

I know that one, of course... sadly does not have that fleece feeling, does it? Doesn't have the same pattern on the Basilisks... which has the same pattern as the Crystalline Knight and Crystal Shield. I find that interesting.
