I find the Large Club's R2 swing that is a sweep and then a throw upwards is too... I guess it is just too slow. it has a good amount of crowd control for the first swing, however the second swing is just... most scenarios seem to show no favour. The smash on the ground two handing it is also too slow and not the same as the Demon Great Hammer.
I dislike Great Axes. The Black knight, Regular, and Demon Great Axe just seem to be unable to satisfy my strenght premise. The Dragon Great Axe is as fast as the Demon Great Axe, and when surrounded can use a force attack that I have beside my Demon Great Hammer when facing multiple enemies (which I have found the weak force it has increases in strength greater than the actual base damage when upgraded). The Demon Great Hammer has reach, unlike most Hammers, a smooth swing motion (although indeed not the fastest), and the AOE attack of it is bigger than most excluding Smoughs. Sadly, Smoughs looks horrible and the reach seems too small (and the moveset is off putting). The Demon Great Hammer has a moveset meant to be directed to one enemy (or at least a bunch of enemies in one pocket). Other heavy weapons... they never seem to fill the strenght I look for. The three weapons, the Axe of a Dragon, the Hammer of an Arch tree, and a sword of a serpent... those are my main three heavy weapons in use. Ultra Greatswords, other Greatswords, and other Greatweapons do not do it well for me.
Ironically, I like all curved greatswords that are there... heavy weapons that require dexterity instead of strength, and I never really upgrade dexterity ever... usually leads towards elemental and faith scaling upgrade paths for them. Due to the lack of dexterity I ever go up to, i stay away from the murko and its surpub scaling compared to other curved swords, and stay with the server (that leeches health) and gravelord sword (which toxifies enemies).
