Whoah. This thing is like SUPER protected. After dying 3 times with absolutely zero chance to kill any Giant Skeletons, I just ran in, grabbed it, and ran out.

I saw a video using Iron Skin. Sadly, I actually don't have that spell.

Anyway, I just wanted to make a thread about how well From did on this spot. They didn't protect the Very Large Ember as well, though. I think they should protect every major end-game ember this extremely.

I used to do a suicide run for it. Sometimes I'd equip a ring of sacrifice. Then I refined my tactic: run around the top of the room a couple times to herd the giants, then do an epic plunging attack and kill them all at once!

do a suicide run, what i always do is kill pinwheel continue into the tog, save reah, go up equi ring of sacrifice and jump on the right ledge then do a running jump, land in front of the large devine ember, take it and try to kill the skellies if i die i wake up in firelink and if i survive i bone out ot firelink. i do this as soon as i kill capra, need that set of wog and the rest of the spells too.

I wonder why the large fire ember is more protected than the chaos ember. I think they could switch the chaos ember for the red slab, that would make more sense, same thing about the enchanted ember. Okay, it makes sense that is in the forest because of Oolice and stuff but its so easy to acquire!

I normally kill Nito and explore all ToG except for the ember, than come back later, but right now I'm making everything occult anyway

Chaos should be just as protected as large fire ember. Both of them should be protected more. The large divine ember is the most protected. I wonder why that is. It's way easier to grab the Occult Ember.

Why are you making everything occult?

If you use ring of fog + slumbering ring (hush+hidden body also works) it makes things so much easier.
thats how i did it tho.

i only got it for the divine weapon trophy anyways.

Because I got the occult ember first and I don't like to farm white chunks :|

Same. Plus, doesn't hurt to have a higher damaging weapon for the next NG going through the catacombs. I personally like killing everything as I go along.

chaos is not as protected as large fore ember? chaos ember is in the freaking lava and theres about 6 taurus demons protecting it. the fire ember has i think three and four of those lame worms which can be killed so easy with ranged attacks.

Ahh, but ranged attacks kills the taurus demons SO easily as well. Plus, location hides the large fire ember. It's off to the left of a fog wall. If you think about it, people are going to go to the fogwall while they have estus flasks. Many many people go towards the taurus demons because they think that's the way. If you grab one at a time, they're really easy.

That's just my opinion I guess.

Yeah but you can easily kill the Taurus one by one (which is wrong in my opinion) and then you can roll and grab the ember before even diyng or you can just die and go back.

    Now for the Large fire:
    1-in human form, you're invaded a lot
2-those worms can easily break your equipment
3-the worms can push you off the ledge just by turning around
4-I don't like how they looks

That place SCREAMS ambush. I watched an LP where the guy just DIDN'T go over there. He was like "Nope. Not worth trying. Probably a trap, and I don't wanna." hahaha! He didn't even find Vamos, so it all worked out.

My first character was like, MAN MODE ALL DAY.

If I saw anything I'd suicide run for it. I remember it even now, so funny.

i guess im not like everyone since i explore EVERYTHING on my first run of any game, it takes me forever but in the end it pays off since i always find useful goodies other people miss because they dont search anything.

true but in Dark Souls, everything screams ambush! Every little shiny thing that you get its a trap:

    Burg: rubish, consumable souls
Forest: consumable souls, Elite knight set, East set
New Londo: consumable souls, parrying dagger, humanity, green shards...
    Painted world: everywhere
    Demons ruins: large fire ember
lost izalith: Ground with something that breaks leading to scary octo demons
    Sens/Anor: mimics
Dukes: crystal cave its nohting but a huge trap
    and much much more

When I first started playing, I liked exploring, but I wasn't a very good gamer, so I usually just died a lot. Fear pretty much took over, and I couldn't play for more than a few hours at a time due to the atmosphere.. man, DkS used to get to me haha!

Once I came back after much Video Game experience, Dark Souls became a lot more relaxing, and more fun. I then explored EVERYTHING.

in dark souls in doesnt matter if you die since thhere's always a bonfire seconds away from where you died which makes dark souls A LOT easier than demon's. nothing like getting frustrated by almost killing the boss to ohave to go all the way back and do it all again, good times.

Grass farming. I heard that was a pain in Demon's.
