I feel that Goughs armor is supposed to be like a snipers ghillie suit. After all he is a master archer! The suit acts like camouflage allowing him to tactically position himself amongst the flora and fauna so that he may get his kill shot! I could be wrong, but it is reminiscent of it. =D

He does wield a dragonslayer bow. Stealth isnt high on his priorities.

stealth dragon bow shots hurt, plus even if hes only ornstein size that makes a DS bow the same relative size as a long bow for the player, plus hes a master, so no recoil and dampened sound, personally i like the look of it better than artorias' armor.

There should be an NPC that is chameleoned so you have to attack or roll through every piece of clutter in the game to find him/her.
