Blight town yes or no.
i had so much fun in blight town with my sorc, that i just skipped it this time. took the watermill elevator thing down and skipped the entire area. i'm just wondering your opinions on this is it worth exploring b-town?

Depends on if you want its treasures. I always explore the Depths entrance at least once before I beat Gwyn for the Power Within pyro.

The worst thign about Btwon is the waterwheek. The exit going up is so stupid, half the time you die if you dont time it perfectly. They need to fix that thing.

Bonus difficulty for medium and heavy rolls. Light roll and ninja roll you can often just walk off, but medium, you need to roll to live usually, and heavy I've failed even on a roll.DoughGuy wrote:The worst thign about Btwon is the waterwheek. I recall dying 93 times in a row trying to leave blight town on my first character.

Re: Blight town yes or no.
I don't think so, Blighttown is noted for its substandard architecture (among other things...) so I think that tricky waterwheel exit should remain.
It fits the environment.

I like to explore only after getting lots of def and poison resistence. Because man, thats one hell for newbies!

Re: Blight town yes or no.
i never had much trouble with the wheel it killed me 2 or 3 times on my first play through. but it slows down right where you need to roll off of it.
but i died so many times just climbing down, and didn't find any note worthy loot.

Despite my infinite hate for Lost Izalith, I must admit is a very cool looking place, I keep wondering who could build all that stuff.
But my favorite will always be ash lake

Re: Blight town yes or no.
Deaths in DkS should be about skill. Not randomly dying because you couldnt get off the wheel properly. Its a stupid way to die and it doesnt belong in DkS.WhatDoesThePendantDo? wrote:I don't think so, Blighttown is noted for its substandard architecture (among other things...) so I think that tricky waterwheel exit should remain.

Depends on how many deaths you are willing to take.

Re: Blight town yes or no.
Were not for the FPS problem, Lost Izalith would be the worst place in the game.
Since there is an FPS problem, Lost Izalith is STILL the worst place in the game, but Blighttown comes close anyway.

I hated Izalith. It was so bright yet so dark at the same time.

Re: Blight town yes or no.
the safest way to get off the water wheel on the way up is to wait till your platform sets you on the conveyor belt mechanism at the top then walk off at any speed (if you wait 15 secs you get tossed off but...)

Ha, From went to a lot of trouble making sure you'd die in stupid ways.DoughGuy wrote:Deaths in DkS should be about skill. Not randomly dying because you couldnt get off the wheel properly. Its a stupid way to die and it doesnt belong in DkS.
That said, I'm not sure I've experienced death by waterwheel, as I've always walk on and off, never roll.

Re: Blight town yes or no.
There's no such thing as skill when platforming sections make you bounce against geography. It was way worse in DeS, though (Flamelurker's shortcut, I'm talking to you).

Re: Blight town yes or no.
FROM tried their best to make sure every death was your fault, and that practice could help you overcome each death. A waterwheel with a stupid design does not fit that.
@Sparkly I did not know you could do that, thanks for the tip.
