Probably dumb question but....

is it possible.. ever.. to reassign your soul points? reset them? or is having every stay at 20 eventually a good thing?

New(ish) to the game and right now I have

Vitality - 16
Endurance - 35
Str - 26
Dex - 20
Faith - 15
Int - 16
Resist- 13
Pyromancer

Soul lvl 71

Right now I'm using the silver knight set with the mask of the father and a Uchwhatchamacallit +2

get a washing pole katana, it has more range than the uchigatana and scales with both str and dex with the same moveset, also more vitality would be useful, cap endurance a 40 unless you want to wear really heavy armor.

it's pretty useless have all your stats at 20, because there are not very many things you can use like that, making pvp hard, and pve can be even more difficult in some cases, as lizard said before me, it's a good idea to cap end at 40, and get more vit to survive longer fights, other than that what you do is all dependent on your play style.

People have won this game at SL1. Stat composition doesn't actually matter for PvE; you can go all rounder or hilariously one-sided if you want. You will have to munchkin your way to victory in PvP, though.

sounds like a lot of fun, but i'm betting those SL 1's couldn't get hit once or they were dead.

Eeeh. Some mobs can and will kill you in a short combo at such a low soul level.

The point was; if people can beat the game without leveling up, you can beat it leveling up however you desire.

It's not a total loss. I recommend you bring Str to 28, then focus only on Dex until it's at 40, then you can leave those 2 alone. I'd bring Fth to 30, and leave Int where it is. And raise Vit and End as much as you like. This'll make a solid PvE build, and you'll be able to use it as far into NG+s as you want.

With 28 Str and 40 Dex, you'll be able to use any Dex weapon (Murakumo being the strongest with those stats), or weapons like the Claymore 2-handed will also make great use of those stats. Upgrade your weapons to +14 (or +15 if you want to spend a slab on them) on the regular path, and you can use the Sunlight Blade miracle to decimate bosses. You can also use Wrath of the Gods for when you get invaded, and throw some pyro spells in there to be a fully-rounded PvE character.

You'll have a few wasted soul levels in Int and Res, but for a PvE character it's not a big deal at all.
