"What are they doing up there?" asked Lethard inquisitvely, staring up at the hundreds of crows, their beady obsidian eyes all staring down at the healer.
Drake was the first to respond, though Wulf had seen them too and had put his hands over his ears, Moon as well, only Rayne seem to be impassive.
"Its about to start " said the Dead Knight, in his somber tone.
There was a faint chattering from behind the Gravesworn and the knights.
Avrik's body was convulsing violently, his bones rattling again each other and the hard stone wall he was propped u against. From withing the rags he wore an eerie green glow began to pulse, his skull now lit up in an malign display of occult energies.
Lethard watched on with a mix of hunger and horror as the skeletal being started to animate.
The hollow man continued to rattle for several minutes before the howls started. They sounded like the shattering of glass, a thousand death screams in a single, terrible, sonorous moan. High above the assembled Crows began to shriek and caw in unison.
Lethard clamped his hands over his ears as Wulf had done.
"What in the name of the Lords is this?!" he cried, his voice drowned out in the dirge of the Murder.
And then all of a suddent the murder scattered, and a shriek of unparallel ferocity resonated throughout the shrine, a rain of black feathers began to fall.
Then it all ended. Wulf let go of his ears and begant o grumble about how that always gave him a headache, Moon went to comfort the silver haired warrior, Rayne ahdn't moved but looked unperturbed, and Drake was simply bent over Adra his huge mass made the woman look tiny and frail.
The healer wondered what had happened. What all the noise had been, why Avrik has convulsed like that. Had he healed the dead thing well enough? He glanced back at the wall where the bones had been. Gasped.
Now laying in a smoking pile, where the dead thing had been, was a pile of ash.
"Dammit" the healer muttered under his breath. "I had no experience with that kind of being." But internally he was cursing himself for his loss of such an interesting test subject.
"Experience enough" said a dry voice from above him.

Perched, almost lazily, on a ruined pillar, was a young man, short cropped black hair, a wry smile, and dull grey green eyes.

He was shell shocked. Such ... raw ... power. Whatever this being was he doubted anyone knew the true extent of what kept him "alive". He had to have this. Imagine, an army of the dead risen with life, the power to not only leech their foes but to also leech themselves. No false life like which drove the skeletons he had read of and seen once. True life once again. It would be hard, but Avrik would be his.
"Avrik I presume?" Lethard asked the shock of witnessing the revival still shaking his voice. He swallowed to steel himself and spoke much more professionally "You wouldn't happen to have my skull lantern?"

Drake having witnessed such scenes many times before sat calmly, undisturbed by the Murder's antics. He looked up at this newcomer on his perch, "So it appears Nito has been gracious enough to grant you a new body, Avrik."

Lethard calmly turns to see the knight emerge. After Avrik's rebirth not much more can startle him today. "I'm a healer. I heal the wounded and the sick. The dead are the only ones who I can not save. Necromancy changes that."

Drake scoffed, "seems that body would make it a bit more difficult to skulk through the shadows." There was a hint of irritation in Drake's voice, "after all that's the only thing you're good for these days." Drake then turned away from Avrik and moved back towards the bonfire. As he moved past Nsane he eyed him with suspicion, for now he called him friend but Drake could not understand any Knight who stayed loyal to Gwyn after that day in the Kiln.

Rayne sat there, listening to those around him, when Avrik pulled his, reassembly act, Rayne just sat there, the hood smothering most of the sound from his ears, After a few moments, and Drake had started to leave, Rayne continued to sit there, Avrik was his boss under Nito, not Drake, Rayne tilted his head to look towards Avrik, "So what now, Avrik?" he asked, the same cold look in his eye's as he had when he first spoke to Drake.

Wulf sighed heavily thinking to himself theyre both fools. There are more important things to worry about than why Avrik was given a new body. "Enough bickering we have more important matters to deal with. What shall we do about this new war. The Lifehunters are now our enemies and we have new allies as well. The mention of the Knights jogged his memory. The rumour had been circulating for a week now, the Gravesworn were the next to go. Perhaps he could learn more to help his own interests in shaping the coming conflicts. After all, new knights would flock to Oscar while these warriors raised their own again. But he was the gentle healer, he didn't know who the Knights were hehehe. "Noble Knights? Who are they?" Lethard asked, feigning confusion "How many forces are there in Lordran?"
