Unlike other npcs, Oscar is turning hollow and kills himself or you can kill him. But he respawns if you go back. I can't understand this because no other box beside the firelink shrine firekeeper comes back. Why is this?

Gameplay =/= Story.
It's a cool feature meant to take you by surprise, just in case you actually find the way to go back into the Asylum.

Some NPCs get killed in their journey and become insane hollow

Because its *** Oscar thats why.
Presumably it has to do with the fact he was the chosen undead before you were, while everyone else was just a NPC.
