Does anyone have the link where they talk about the talk item("screamstone")? I cant find the full namco bandai e3 2012 press conference. It was an actual japanese dev who mentioned the voice item, and someone translated what he said(i think, i may be remembering that wrong). I understand that it was confirmed this was an error, but does anyone have the link to that info?
It really disappoints me how little effort namco bandai puts into Dark Souls PR. Action rpgs are huge right now, and dark souls has this awesome online co-op/pvp system(i hear that stuff is popular these days).

cool found it, yea the guy that says this is actually the same guy that i mentioned that i watched on the live stream of e3. This seems just as if not even more odd then adding a voice chat item lol. I have a feeling theres some translation issue with this, and we will see what it actually is when the content is released. Heres the quote just so everyone can see it here.

itself, it is obviously as you know a very unique approach to
connectivity with Dark Souls, and that was a big factor of the gameplay.
We don’t intend on adding anything into that because it’s on PC, but
we’ve included new items that could help on interacting with fellow
Souls, such as the Thank You Carving, a rock that you toss on the ground
to scream the tense "Thank You". Adding that sort of voice online
factor will add on the online experience.

Yes so as I said, the items won't allow straight up voice chat. Instead they will be another way of passing messages to phantoms.

well technically it is speculation on our part, cause it got translated in two different ways. We have no real way of telling which was correct. I didn't see anything saying one was correct and the other was not. We will have to wait and see.
