Being a Giftwraith is tiring...
So I tried being a Giftwraith earlier today, and found out that it's a whole lot more tiring than I expected. After spending hours dropping items, weapons, armors, and rings, my fingers are now all swollen and heck, they're aching intensely (I even snapped one of my nails.) I'm officially quitting this business. Not sure how some folks can carry on with something this tiring. But I do admit that it does feel good to receive "Thank You!" messages though. Now let's hope the arsenal I gave away will help those folks against those wankers.

Re: Being a Giftwraith is tiring...
What you do is while they're dropping items you get in lock on range, then when they start the nonsense and the time waster, you throw dung pies at them, then once that gets boring you kill them, make sure you do it before they pick the items up! Then you kill yourself and wait for the pay off,

I honestly dont see the point in invading some random dude and giving away good items for no reason. If your gonna take the time to invade than the least you can do is try to fight, but thats just my opinion.

Re: Being a Giftwraith is tiring...
Personally I wouldn't do it in this kind of way,
I only give ''gifts'' to friends and occasional random friendly strangers who deserve it ,
or earned my respect so to say.
It would be too bad if the recipient is a griefer , a cheap player, or just started out playing.the game.
I saw this happen on XBL yesterday in Blighttown ,but not my own account.
The guy who invaded sent a voice message upfront saying
'' I come unarmed in peace to bring you items to aid you on your quest''.

I don't drop items like that, too much work, but if I continually invade a good dueler over and over with him continually being a nice guy, I'll drop him a single slab out of thanks.

Re: Being a Giftwraith is tiring...
To be honest, I was seriously bored and simply tried to do something different than usual, like spreading grief and giftwraithing, things I have never done before. After killing two newbies, got grilled a couple time by spirits of vengeance, giftwraithing three people in row, and staring at bunch of orange messages (which are literally everywhere) though, the process proved to be incredibly tiresome and boring. Obvisouly, these things just aren't for me, so I'm back to playing offline and trying to uncover secrets. Consider it some sorts of brain-fart, folks.

Re: Being a Giftwraith is tiring...
gift wraiths are just half *** mules, in my opinion. part of being a mule originally meant you had to mule every item to anyone who asked, but no one does that.

To everyone who asked? Are you aware of the time it takes to do a full mule? That's basically condemning someone to spend their whole time muling strangers. That's absurd

Nobody mules, because there is the BB glitch, which is way faster than muling, and thats why I do it.

Re: Being a Giftwraith is tiring...
I got giftwraithed for the first time from a forum member recently. Isirith noticed my extreme jealousy towards not being giftwraithed EVER (in another thread) and took it upon herself to drop me a load of goodies. The whole exchange took over 30 minutes. I wasn't expecting that much stuff, but I am really grateful. The only things I needed were weapons for trophies, so it didn't really "break" the game for me.
Though I did feel a bit guilty afterwards with all the excess stuff I had, so I tried to giftwraith others. It didn't go too well. Hahah.

Re: Being a Giftwraith is tiring...
A lot of people have already been muled and have every item x99, especially in burg. Ive dropped a slab or something else just as rare only to see them not be able to pick it up cause they already had 99 in stock.

Maybe we should just litter a designated area with slabs at an appointed date/time and have a vagrant/crab party. Crabs for everybody.

Well onde day i gave a full +5 black knight set with the Black Knight Great Axe, sword and shield +5 for a friend, and he sad i managed to take all the fun out of the game and now he dont play with that character anymore... BUT, we starting doing a Coop run through the entire game and well, this is something really fun (no gifting this time)

Re: Being a Giftwraith is tiring...
I've only ever encountered one vagrant in The Duke's Archives. They are so cute though. I wish there were more of them around. Once I figured out what they were and how they came to be, I started randomly dropping things in places. I wonder if that is what happens to unaccepted gifts from giftwraiths.
I've come across players who won't accept gifts and just leave them on the ground... I just help with coop instead!
