I know this is PvP section but now that we don't have a builds section I'm wondering what makes a perfect PvE build? I'm thinking about one that can deal with the monsters but also deal with random invaders. A build that's not easy PvE mode (No DWGR) obviously. One that you would use to play the DLC for example. Fun!!!!

Boring but good = Spear + Greatshield
Fun and still good = GS/Straight sword + shield

Re: The perfect PvE build?
Yes, straight swords are awesome for PvE. They feel so perfect against mobs. Block and then hit, easy for us experienced but very satisfying feel. You can even parry and it feels awesome. I would use this to fight Artorias. I hope it's not too OP, but those spells are the ones I used for the mobs/bosses. High poise to not get stunlocked to death by mobs. Ring suggestions?

This is actually what I'm currentlly running around farming chunks with hoping to get invaded with. I Carry an Enchanted and a +14 BSS, MLBH when I want to off hand a spear and a +15 Uchi to buff
Truth be told I miss pyromancy sometimes and Wish I had fit 1-2 more attunment slots in.

99 in all stats, pick your favorite +15 weapon and use CMW or DMB/SLB, probably use Havel's shield, Giant's Armor, DWGR (even without Havel's Shield, at 99 END, you may need it).

31 strength, 2 hand the Demon Great Axe, weapon enchant buff, red tear stone ring, power within:
2 shot most bosses...
Scare the ever living white poop out of invaders.
Make your self look awesome.
best pve build ever.

http://tinyurl.com/cys2brx that usually what i use when pveing, i dont even change it when i get invaded and still win most of the time.
@wyrm i think all that poise is a waste for pve, i usually go with no poise since i like the res in light armor for pve.

warrior builds are awesome, its basically a 40/40 build and that longsword hits hard when you get to 40/40.

Depends on how good you are. I've got a low vit Int gouge (23 att/44 Int) at SL 60. It'll obliterate anything anywhere.

Re: The perfect PvE build?
Almost anything can be good in PvE, I'd humbly submit that the Greatshield of Artorias is the best without parries, BK with because of the fire resist. Elite Knight armor is good because of reasonable weight, high defense, and poise not being so important. I'd say the absolute best would be the GSoA with high stats, but the DSS with high stats=perfect safety behind the Greatshield of Artorias. It's fun to use the Great scythe too.
