thorn set (info thread)

Hello everyone I´ve joined just now but i´ve already lurked this forum for while. This will be my first info thread about thorn set and why
everyone should wear piece of it.
As far as I know its common
knowledge that rolling with a piece of thorn set equipped cancels
damage of bs but it seems most people really ignore how important
this is.
Granted with faster weps you can pretty much just spam r1 and
be bs proof but for weps like large club or great scythe rolling is
undeniably faster method of defense. Thorn armor is really only thing
that makes slower weapons and spells valid for pvp.
Of course having
piece of thorn set doesn´t make you immune for bs since you still have to
aim your rolls towars your opponent and time to the exact moment their of their bs. but when there is no time for counter bs, no time to swing and rolling
(without thorn set) would end being teleported back to their weapon is where it becomes necessity.

For example when you miss swing
with large club and see your opponent going for a bs and there wouldn´t normally be anything
you could do about it is exactly the situation where thorn armor saves your back.

Could this cancel roll bs?

Honestly i didn't know it canceled bs lol. I just might have to start using a piece

yes actually I find it easier against roll bs than running bs since aiming is no longer an issue

Is it possible for someone to make a video explaining this and how to do it and stuff?

Gaxe if you roll at the same time the other player is trying to backstab you the thorns hit him and it cancels the backstab damage. Not the backstab animation though. This is very useful for poise backstab and maybe lagstabs in general I think.

This video actually does provide proof.
First time he is backstabbed, his kick connected, canceling damage.
Second time, his weapon connected, canceling damage.

Thorns armor does the same, if the thorns during a roll connect, you take no damage.

This is the reason I always have 1 piece of thorn armour on at all times, it works great against bs fishers, roll bs'ers etc. It's also fun to stun low poise toons just by rolling.

Me 2 I have 6 toons every 1 is wearing atleast 1 piece of kirks for this reason...not only will it stun low poise people it will delay would be attacks and allow you to connect 1st....this work deadly for katana's!!

Yup great example you can see were he back rolls/cancels the 1st 3 was it then forward rolls once and BS!!

I didn't know that although, I wear the leggings. I played last night and in one match I received no BS damage 3 times in a row against a BS fisher. Literally, in a row. Good stuff man.

Might be interesting to know, it can also work for ripostes. An utter luck is required for that though cause you have to be able to roll at the exact moment your oppnents goes for the riposte but it's happened to me and saved my life
