bye bye Dark Souls

Hi !

After monthes of playing it exclusively, I'm now done with Dark Souls !
So here's a quick bye, I thank all the people on this forum, you've helped me quite a lot in finishing this game and getting the 1000Gs !

I'm now starting another game : Demon's Souls (Just bought a PS3 to play it).

Iv picked up Demon's recently, just wanna see what others in my position think of it too.

So far (I've played like 10 hours) so good..
The game system is more or less the same... obviously a bit less refined, menus and inventory look a bit "older".. But the whole game, the fights and everything are extremely close to DS.
Difficulty is probably on par... I feel that "mastering" (to some extent) Dark Souls probably made it easier for me than it was for people that started playing it when it was first released... but it's still hard, and I did die quite a lot since I started it
I fought 3 bosses so far and they were close to those in Dark Souls...

All in all .. If you loved Dark Souls, you'll like Demon's Souls a lot, for sure

really? While i agree with the similar difficulty, I'd say that general mobs are harder in demons simply because of no poise, but the bosses are easier.

Iv done part 1 and 2 of all 5 worlds so far and iv found the bosses to be pretty easy, almost pathetic in some cases compared to the early challenge and havoc that the gargoyles and capra would wreak upon new players.

well, as I said.. I've only played a few hours.. and so far, enjoying it a lot

oh yeah, it's a fun game, the upgrade system is a lot better but confuses the hell outta me XD

fight garl vinland without using a bow and come back. ds bosses were hander imo. the flamelurk and vinland are harder than anything i dealt with in dark. flamelurk took 16 tries first time through as a str dex longsword user. didnt have the internet to look up why my weapon didnt do any damage (hint onehanded weapons are largely useless) so i just kept at it tell i knew everything he was going to do before he started doing it. and the thought of a straight fight with garl vinland still makes me cringe. i still failed more than once as a hardened vet of 6+ play throughs and many many hours of pvp. any mistake you make is immediately punished with a great hammer to the skull and is often fatal to those who didnt gouge vit or power level.

you will becoma amazed i still find demons souls way better then dark souls its harder and the world/charater tendency is great..

i play demons soul to now and then when i get mad on dark souls from time to time...

Have fun and dont break to many ps3 controls when you get frustrated.

Okay, ill see if vinland is any better.

but flamelurker wasnt that bad, got him first time i fought him, though he was one of the bosses who i actually made me need to heal. Then again before attempting him, there was a helpful hint at start of 2-2 to get me a magic weapon, so i did and i suppose that's what did it for me.

but im doing my run blind, no help and not using magic either.

I didn't know ZeGlobox did impressions? Got any good ones?

Penetrator, old king and flamelurker are the hardest bosses in demons souls imo. And one of the hardest of all battles was this green armor dude in the castle who needed a key to get to and gave you one of the 2 swords you need to forge a greatsword that scales with char tendency (imba damage btw) ...cant remember name. Also non human red phantoms where much harder in demons souls.

All in all i'm sure i must have died 3-4 times more in demon's than in dark souls, i was more prepared for sure, specially with the controls.

also i loved how you could control world tendency to unlock events/extra npc's and those ...demon donuts that gave special souls.

Nice to hear that some people are picking up Demon's Souls, or even buying a console to play it. I'll be sure to dust off my copy for a new play since the servers will be populated again!

I gave my copy of Demon's Souls to my brother (my 42 year old unemployed brother) and he gets invaded all the time.

i was a bit disappointed by vinland, everyone hyped him as being really tuff. i went into demons souls blind so i didnt watch any you tube vids or anything. but yea i killed him first attempt just parryed him 5 times with my epee rapier +3 and he was done. i plan on killing him in a different way in ng+ if possible.

Done twice. I never lost to him once, bait him to using his overhand attack, hit hit, back up, repeat.

I never even tried parrying him, that seems like it would be easy..
