it's a show made for children spur, there's no way they could market an ongoing plot that's anything more than an overall goal or aim.

I had heard that originally Lauren Faust wanted to make a regular plot-based series and have the episodes string together. But Hasbro stepped in and ruined everything

Re: Brony Thread
yeah that really doesn't surprise me. to be fair hasbro probably know that having something with individual episodes would be more popular and easier for new viewers to pick up..
unlike pokemon where as a result the first episode was shown on tv every 2 weeks :|

Re: Brony Thread
I have a question: I got into Bronydom/MLP late and I've been wondering how the phenomenon got started. Was the start of Friendship is Magic something that was on-the-radar for a while and anticipated, something that had all the makings of a hit, or was it a show that surprised everyone and exploded organically? If it was more like the latter, around what episode did it start to gain more than a cult/little kid following, and what was the catalyst?

Re: Brony Thread
No-one expected the show to take off like it did. As for when it became popular, I remember there being threads discussing the show on 4chan, on the day the show aired. Even back then people were arguing over it.

Re: Brony Thread
Yes it was considered a rather boring episode, but that was in comparison to others that hadn't been released. This was the only one out, and so people on the two boards /co/ and /b/ (Mainly /co/ though), started discussing it, and it just...kinda...grew.

Re: Brony Thread
The first two episodes weren't anything big. They are still kind of meh.
But then the rest of them came.

Re: Brony Thread
I watched the first 3... i personally thought the first 2 were better than number 3, but then again that's probably because i prefer extended storylines rather than episodic content
btw don't even try and get me to watch more. my deal with reaper was 3 mmmkay?

Why is she so perfect? Although she's not my waifu, I would never betray Priscilla like that.

She's got the early makings of some derp eyes there. And who could betray Priscilla? She's a queen of grace and taste.

Re: Brony Thread
She's a background pony who rose to stardom after being caught in an unusual sitting pose. She is usually seen palling around with an Earth Pony named Bonbon.

Lyra was also given a short speaking role in the Wedding two-parter, in which her name was canonized in a reference to the brony fandom who christened her.
