Faith Progression

I have the A.S.S you get from the undead dragon in the drakes valley.

What I was curious about is a list of faith based weapons and when they become obsolete and what I should replace that weapon with?



Example

Astora S. Sword < Crescent Axe at x point in the game's progression.

Or..

Astora S. Sword

Sunlight S. Sword

Crescent Axe...

etc...

Bows included.

Probably Astoran SS > Silver Knight Spear > Crescent Axe > Grant. They're the only fth weapons.

I thought the sunlight sword scaled to faith?

What about the dark moon bow?

Divine/Occult upgrades?

Oh the dark moon bow could go after crescent axe I believe, its pretty fth heavy. And you could slip the DSS in there too.
Astoran SS > Silver Knight Spear > Crescent Axe > Darkmoon Bow > DSS > Grant
You can just use an upgraded weapon anytime, there is no right time to use them. I thought you were talking about found items only.

well I was thinking in terms of progression. So for instance, by the time you get the dark ember you can also get dragon hussies dagger which is occult based. SSS I found does not scale with faith and the SKS also doesn't scale to faith but has divine aux effect.

Upgraded weapon of choice?

Go divine/occult. The Crescent axe is decent at higher levels, but the A.S.S. is so named for a reason. Even with 40 in Str, Dex, and Faith it hits for piddling damage compared to any other SS with 40/40 Str and Dex. You can use the A.S.S. for a decent part of PvE, but if you want to fight in PvP, get yourself a Divine or occult version of your favorite weapon.

yeah I was leaning towards the crescent axe for it's versatility over the grant, but I can see how a weapon upgraded through divine/occult could be much better. Anything that is as versatile as the CA that can be upgraded come to mind?

large club>large club>large club>large club. Just buff it and kill everything, fast rolling is a good idea.

If you like axes, go with the Hand, Battle, Gargoyle, or even the Butcher Knife. Greatswords are even more versatile; try the Claymore, or Flamberge for the added bleed. Katanas are extremely fast, have decent range, and in the case of the Uchigatana and Washing pole, long-range poke attacks. Halberds such as the vanilla or Gargoyle halberd come to mind, but the Great Scythe does very well as an occult weapon, and boasts long range swings and overhead attacks. Straight swords are also versatile weapons; a lot of people swear by the BSS but it's not as good when occult. The SLSS is a highly overlooked weapon in my opinion, it's as versatile as can be- it has the same moveset as the A.S.S. If you're going to level another stat alongside faith, you should stick with the Crescent Axe, it has good scaling in Str and Faith. However, if you're going just faith, make an occult weapon.

cresent axe is great since it has the same properties as maces and has a much larger hit box. You'll want to cap yourself at 20 str and 40 fth (483 atk) since it starts to diminish from the there and you'll only get 1 point into attack. Plus its divine so killing skeletons has never been easier.

I was only half joking. My point was that any weapon +15 with dmb or slb is quite fearsome, much more so than any faith scaling weapon. The split damage of weapons that scale with faith is crippling.

No, its my Sl 200 arena build with Bountiful and Soothing Sunlight,Wrath of the God's, Karmic Justice, Vow of Silence, and one other I think. I think thats 50 Att.

Unfortunately, unless someone trades me for some stuff I have to go through the skeleton's before I can get it? I want the Elite Cleric armor to sport my tank/support build.

Atm elite cleric set is only gotten through sneaky ways, I'm talking matrix **** where you gotta jack into a port somewhere, so no it cant be obtained w/o hacks. But it looks so f'ing awesome and would really complete my saint Urbain build and yea I want it too.

I thought Elite Cleric set was the one patches sold. I don't want hax.

Occult Composite bow with moonlight arrows is one of the most terrifying things in the universe.

Seriously 500ar on a pure faith build (Minimum dex to wield)

Other than that most every weapon that scales with faith is severely handicapable honestly. Grant has ridic reqs DSS scales better with quality *** and Crescent fall off pretty hard is usefulness... it's really a huge shame there is no pure faith weapons, like at least int got MLGS and MLBH

The one thing I disagree with is your take on the crescent axe. I've done okay with it, but that may be due to people just not knowing how to counter the weapon since not many people use it. It can get up to 500 AR and has an above average moveset. It can stunlock quite nicely too.

Axes are always a bit crippled compared to Greatswords, but that may change with the GS nerf, I just wished they would buff axes since they were so underpowered. I mean, less damage and range than greatswords with equal speed and stunlock? There was not a single advantage to using an axe in DkS over a GS.

I have to slightly agree with you too Ghadis. I miss my DeS Blessed Guilotine axe. I think they should bring back the blessed properties and make divine/occult upgrades cool.

Occult leeches hp from your opponent.

Then you could divide them into categories like Divine= better str scaling Occult= better dex scaling.

It would boost up faith weapons to where you may see more melee faith builds instead of casters.

You were a Guillotine axe user in DeS? Awesome, that's one of my favorite weapons from that game, when axes were actually good. But yeah, faith upgrades should do more, like Divine being weaker but regenerating HP, while Occult should act like the chaos blade and greatly improve damage at the cost of losing HP with every hit.

I always had a guilotine axe on me. I used HoG's and DBS as my main weapons and Guilotine or dozer axe as my off hand back up weapon.

They should actually just make the Enchanted/Occult scaling paths stronger, so that with a 40-50 INT/FAI their damage is comparable to 40S scaling str or dex pure AR weapons
