F****** Mushroom People!!!

So I decide to finally head into the Great Hollow, foolishly thinking after taking on the Iron Golem and entering Anor Londo at long last that nothing could possibly harm me. In Dark Souls that is a foolish belief, I know. But I was confident in a way I had not been ever since I began my journey into Lordran. Carrying roughly 45,000+ souls I headed into the tree root at the base of Blighttown and descended, slowly but surely, to the base of the tree root. I killed the Curse Frogs, went down the the lower level. Creepy-looking (but in a way kinda cute) Mushroom Folk where walking around. The biggest one approached me, and just as I was about to roll out of the way of his attack, he clips me with his tiny arm - KILLING ME INSTANTLY! One-shotted! By a mushroom! Needless to say, those 45K were lost forever as I died again trying to get them back (Not by the Mushrooms again - I simply fell off one of the branches...)

Truthfully I had no idea they existed but I guess thats the great thing about Dark Souls - just when you think you've seen it all a goddamn mushroom kills you...

Even the Tree People in Darkroot didnt surprise me as much as the Shrooms. And thanks Calipygias, though I dont think its quite as catchy as 'Prepare To Die'...

those mushroom guys are teh total awesomesauce. they one shot gankers and dont afraid of anything. nothing like leading 3 gankers to the two in darkroot, and casting poison mist so they can't see the mushrooms come out swinging.

By forest I assume you mean Darkroot? Or is there another forest I havent seen yet? Either way they sound grim...

Something kind of similar happened to me on my first playthrough. I had just got to ash lake, and i was fighting the hydra. I had killed the clams and thought i was safe to fight without interruption. When it was down to like 3 heads all of a sudden a mushroom man comes out of nowhere and just oneshots. It was honestly so funny i couldn't even get angry, i just started laughing my *** off.

I still don't know how/why it came out from the tree to attack me, i had been fighting the hydra for almost 5min.

I like my mushrooms fried in butter with a little chopped garlic and served on lightly buttered toast.

i like backstabbing the little ones. i feel like a monster chasing them all when the two big ones are dead.

I think we've found our first PvE griefer^.
