Forgive me if this is common knowledge, I just noticed it.

Holding LB, tap LT, whenever you release LB you will automatically parry. Word.

    Translate in Dark Souls language?

"Hold block, tap parry. When you release block, you automatically parry"?
Didn't know this worked, but what applications does it have? Does it let you parry katana 2nd hit without having to poise parry it?

Wait, how are you guys doing this? I keep trying but it parries the second I hit the parry button, not when I let go of the block one.

Press and hold L1 to block. Then, press and hold L2. When, you're ready to parry, release L1 and you'll parry.

Nope, I parry the second L2 is pressed (even if I hold it).

Maybe it's just a console thing and PC users can't do it?

I can do it all the time with my PS3 controller connected to my PC.

It's useless though, at least for me. I prefer to manually parry at the right time.

so instead of parrying when you press a button, you parry when you release a button.

this is an advantage how? lol its interesting but i dont see why any one would do this

would work for people who are learning to time their parrys. For me, I almost always parry too late, this would ensure that I am blocking right up until I parry. I knew this trick, but stopped doing it as I thought it was more of a crutch than a true technique.

Didn't say it was useful. Didn't say I recommend it. Just noticed it is all. And went "Huh." It's pretty hard to time it right. I messed around with it for an hour or so in Anor Londo against the knights and got stabbed a bunch.

Definitely not the "Oh duh! Hooray!" moment of realizing that I had that second set of extra zoom with bows.

Can it be used to parry the second swing of a greatsword more easily?

I think so. I haven't tested it at pvp yet, but try doing it when you play. Just press and hold block button, then press parry button, the parry will only start at the moment you release the block button

I've been trying it on the hollows at fire link, and I can block the hit and parry at the same time. They rebound during my parry, so if they were using a katana or gs, I think we found a way to get that elusive parry for the second swing.

Yep, this is something they patched in.

Before (Consoles version)actions used to stack, for example you'd drop your shield and take an estus for no reason other than you pressed estus while blocking 30 seconds ago.

Now they phase (Happen exactly when you press the button) through each other.
