I cant believe this guy's character

I spent a bit of time pvping in the kiln last night, won some, lost some. then i see a gravelord sign so i summon him. he's in a full havel's set with shield and butcher knife of demon's machete. What ever the weapon it had a lightening buff or was lightening enhanced. We bow, so far so good. Then with breakneck speed he's jumped on me with a huge blow that halves my HP even though I had my +14 Eagle shield up. Then he WOGs me VERY fast and comes in for the final blow. I'm dead.

Next time I summon the same guy. So I keep my distance. He hurls a sunlight sper at meMUCH MUCH faster that I can at him and my FAI is 46. Zap I'm down. He flips he *** over to me and wallops me I'm dead.

3rd and last summons. I got two strike at him with my Occult Clay which normally delivers a good punch - it hardly touched him. Quickly switched to my maxed lightening Uchi (35 DEX) - again, hardly a scratch.

I'm SL 102. Can this guy me 10% higher than me or can anyone form the Gravelord get summoned. The strength and speed he had was amazing. Was he superbad or was he a hack of some sort? Could be I'm not much good a PVP, that's true - but this guy seemed like Superman.

idk ive noticed a speed hack recently on XBL , dunno what system you play though

Strange... he normally would need to be at SL 182 as the lowest class (don't know how it's called). He needs to have maxed Dex and Fai. The Vit is hacked I guess...

Speed of casting is affected by dexterity, not faith. It's entirely possible he was hacking, but I don't have any footage or numbers to judge from so I can't tell you that conclusively.

Also, your dex doesn't affect lightning damage.

@Xuitis are there any videos? I want to see what it looks like in action so I'm prepared when I get back on XBL and find one of these to kill.

I dont have any video record programs but if someone posts a vid of it ill drop it on the forum, basically move speed, swing speed, casting, etc are almost doubled haha

Thought it was lag first time but seen it again 3 times now xD Imagine a Zwei swinging like a longsword lol

But is it still the zwei swing animation or does it switch to the longsword swing animation? I met a lot of Spanish players swinging their zweis like longswords in the last few days I was on XBL before PTD came out. I thought it was just the lag-induced weapon moveset glitch though, I don't know what to think now.

oh no move set alterations is a different thread :I this is the normal Zwei move set accellerated , bad example I guess :|

Ive not watched that video but from what you said it doesnt look like he was a hacker, just a player in the know

Lightning Uchi doesn't do much damage. It seems like you're not used to PvP yet. If the Lightning Spear was fast it could be that he had high Dex, but if he had a Demon's Great Machete then the guy would surely be SL +200, or he was a Str/Faith Build and you didn't react to his lightning spears accordingly.

And yes the DGM's R2 will splat you even if you have the shield up, but that attack is super slow.

yeah I take your point about the uchi - I thought it would be a good fast weapon in PvP with high dex, but perhaps not. I cast the L Spear also with 35 Dex and 46 Fai, but it was NOWHERE near as instant as his. I had no chance to react and I had the ninja ring on.

So If I'm SL102 can I still summon a gravelord at SL200+ ? Guess I won't do that again. :shock:

Again...... none of his attacks were slow. it didn't look like lag either, just damn fast.

i watched the vid of low/high dex spear casting. his animation was different, no pause in the 'backlift', it was that quick. the spear left his hand as soon as it appeared

Then he was hacking: You need to kill Nito and break the cov to get to kiln.

What L spear was it? I have an animation that looks like you said with my maxed Dex char for the normal ones.

I might be wrong but, as far as i know you don't really break the cov by killing Nito, you just cut all access from it, otherwise they wouldn't have left the ability to use the cov in Kiln anyway, right?

Edit: Just checked the wikis, using the gravelord cov in Kiln is suppose to add 5 BPs, that being said, they probably wouldn't give out the possibility if you could only hack your way into the area.

On-topic: Perhaps it was just lag? Lag is not always as obvious as one might think.

^Killing Nito doesn't break Gravelord covenant. Haven't tried it myself, but I read on the wiki that it doesn't.

Only killing Gwyndolin breaks the DM covenant.

Why are you linking me to a video about dex affecting casting speed, I was asking for a video showing this acceleration hack Xuitis was talking about. Unless it was for OP's benefit.

I am a gravelord who has defeated Nito and I am still in cov. So thar you go, confirmed This guy really doesn't sound like a hacker.... honestly. :/

I'm sure you can still be in the cov if u defeat Nito, I wasn't doubting that. I saw a few Gravelord signs in the kiln. My query was the awesome speed and power of this guy.

I still don't know about the % difference in summoning the GL cov people. If I am SL102 does he/she need to be within 10%?

Lag normally looks laggy.... you know, jumpy, but this was smooth and didn't look like lag.

Pretty sure it is the 10+10% thing but im not 100% on that.

As far as speed is, if you're a strength build with barely and dex, and he's running around with 45 dex then yeh his casts are going to greatly outspeed yours.

I'm not a STR build. My DEX is 32, FAI 46, END & VIT around 26 & STR 16. So my DEX is ok. go figure ........ ?
