Questions about Sunlight Spear.

Ok so I am currently SL 91 and kinda wanted to stay out of SL 120 range. However currently I have 44 Faith and recently acquired Sunlight Spear. the question is , is Sunlight Spear worth the 6 lvls I need to use it and also I would probably put 2 more lvls into Attunement since Sunlight Spear takes up 2. So really is it worth 8 lvls. Is it enough more damage then Great Lightning Spear to be worth it , is really the question.

Also I have Crown of Dusk , Ring of Sun's Firstborn and Darkmoon Talisman. So for those of you that know or have that set up , you could probably give me some numbers to compare the 2. Thanks in advance.

For PvP if you don't have 45 Dex it is very slow and almost useless. Either way go 50 Faith to get the max mag adj for the DM Talisman.

^This and yeah it's not really reliable on PvP except if you have the surprise attack.

if it hits they go flying off their feet no matter their poise... but its as easy to dodge as a css and less laggy... it inflicts around 700 on its own i don't know how much with the buff rings..

Forgot to mention , this is mainly for PVE. pretty much any spear is useless in PVP because it is easily dodged.

In PvP, the spears actually are good if they are free-aimed. Try it once the ninja-ring gets removed. The spears are just long enough to clip a fast roller.

Ok for those that would like to know. I did the lvling. With 50 FTH and the set up mentioned in OP here is the damage out put.

Great Lightning Spear: 847

Sunlight Spear: 1078

Just for fun , Wrath of the Gods: 756

This was on the blob things with spears around the statue in Painted World.

So I guess it is worth it. Gotta say though. For a spell Miracle thatyou are really only suppose to get in NG+ and with the high FTH requirements , it isnt that great. CSS is much easier to get requires less INT and does about the same damage. So all in all , kinda disappointing.

i think it has infinite poise break too... try tossing it at some one with max poise and see if they get thrown on their back or simply stagger... you'll probably need to find a friend willing to do the testing with you for that though...

Faith was never meant to do as much pure damage as Int, faith is about healing, buffing, and debuffing your enemies, it's a very all-around type of magic. Int. is almost purely offensive, and a pure caster is viable in PvE. Pure faith isn't, Faith builds nearly always have a secondary stat for melee combat, it's not meant to stand on its own as a damage dealer.
