Great Vid, that would have made an amazing third ending, defeat gwyn with solaire and he kindles the flame, leaving you to walk out into the darkness alone.

Nice video. IMO it's pretty hard to dispute some of this stuff. Although people will, consistently.

Ya it would indeed.
Nice video and very detailed. I actually had forgotten that Solaire had also escaped from the Asylum as well. The statue with the child, I never noticed the sword at all. Very interesting stuff.

The story is vague. People will interpret it how they choose. Arguing about it is pretty foolish.
But they will.

Re: Great vids about NPC stories.
It's been a while since I actually listenend to any dialogue, but I didn't remember Solaire saying he had been imprisoned at all.
I've never really cared about the lore much, but since this guy has done the work and presented it so well I am going to believe what he has to say. Now the characters have more depth to me, which is good.

Re: Great vids about NPC stories.
I'd never noticed the sword on that statue either. Granted calling it a Sunlight Straight Sword is a bit of an assumption, it still makes the most sense to me. At least moreso than any of the other theories I've heard. If you assume that lore is accurate, it also brings up some interesting points about the chaos covenant. If Solaire is meant to survive, then that also means that the chosen undead was meant to be a chaos servant. There's definitely some odd connotations to that.

Re: Great vids about NPC stories.
The knight in the asylum is not Solaire but comes from Astora as Solair is said to, so there's no way of knowing if he ever entered it. I think the motif behind saving Solaire and bringing him to the Kiln is that it requires you to learn the shortcomings and the mortality of the once gods only through learning the truth (through the chaos cov) and forgiving them for their actions by taking pity and aiding the dying witch can you save Solaire from himself and so him the true face of his god.

Re: Great vids about NPC stories.
Yes Solaire does say that, which is in the video that is link. The person who made it has some dialogue in the video to prove certain points and one was that Solaire is Undead and escaped the Asylum, so kind of like your player, he is a chosen undead since the game never specifies any one person as 'the' chosen undead.

Re: Great vids about NPC stories.
I love what he says about Kirk in the Daughters of Chaos video. I never pictured it quite that way, but it all makes sense.
Man, I just watched the Arty one too, the stuff he says about Sif trying to protect you in the end also makes perfect logical sense. These videos are just making me want to play and play and play and play and play. Damn you work for making me leave the house.

It is always sad to watch Solaire gradually lose his joie de vivre. It's like watching the Titanic sink.
