Strangest invader I've ever seen

So I was hanging outside Kalameet's fog gate last night hoping for some help in getting a little tail. That never happened. Anyway.....

I faced a lot of invasions and I gotta say I'm impressed with how honorable most people were. I only ran into one humanity healer all night which prompted Estus and Pursuers on my part. Funny side story, I let him use a lot of humanity before I offed him.

So back to the main story. I get invaded by a guy and I walk up to meet him halfway in the valley as I usually do. I bow from a distance and he keeps running at me. I believe holding Ciaran's weapons (I don't have them so I don't know for sure). I get ready to fight. As he closes I dodge what I assume will be the first attack. Guy just runs right by me.

Ok....he runs right to the fog gate and stands there looking at me. Assuming he's trying to have fun I decide to play along and use my "Hello" carving. Maybe prompt some interesting interaction. He throws a firebomb. Ok. I switch to Black Iron shield to say "that's not gonna scare me." He stands there. After a minute I assume there's not going to be anything funny happening so I throw some poison knives at him. After poisoning him I think there's gotta be a reaction. Nope. Just stands there. After a good chunk of his life is gone from the poison I think, "he hasn't attempted anything interesting, he's just wasting my time." I have HIM blocked, not the other way around. I'm not gonna let him run away/heal etc. I cast pursuers to say, you're not getting away. He aggros the spell, almost killing him, then WALKS BACK to the fog gate. What the hell? The poison almost kills him. Meanwhile, he throws a couple Lloyd's talismans at the ground. I poison him again and leave the catalyst showing. He takes a few steps around but never close enough to make me think "attack." As the poison kills him I throw a "thank you" carving down and bow.

Can someone please explain what this guy was doing? Seriously. I chuckled a good deal but wow.....

maybe he thought he was having darksouls phantom issues and thougth he was a friendly white phantom......instead of a red...then got very confused as to why you was hitting him.....or he was a yoghurt!

Maybe his focus isn't on the game? Happens to me all the time. Doing something, and the miss needs me for something or wants to talk about something, so I'm distracted or just aren't paying attention. Nothing to be lost by dying.

I would say perhaps but this guy was definitely paying attention the whole time. There was consistent reactions to things I did. I forgot to mention that he spammed WoG at one point. Deliberately out of range. And not button mashing. Like here's a few there's a few. I stopped counting after a dozen and he kept going a good amount after that. I know the times I'm distracted I just do my best or put the controller down and accept death. This guy probably would killed me no problem with just WoG. After six or so I woulda gotten more confident and then ran into the other 8 thousand he seemed to have. I would say the player handed the controller over to someone else but the location he ran to seemed deliberate and there was plenty of time for the person to try other things. Instead there were seemingly random acts. Oh well.....I got a kick out of it.

Maybe he wanted to create some confusion and to show that not all invaders are after blood.

my dad does this with his lvl 4 darkwraith... he invades naked in the parish and then opens the sunlight altair gat and the other gate then closes it on at least one hollow warrior before opening it again... then he dances around.... its really funny to watch

See that I get. I'm the guy who advocates for dropping dung pies in people's worlds and then running around hoping they find your presents. Pranks are golden.

Now I'm inspired to mess around with players more.

Maybe I should go around naked in the burg as a SL 15 and do the channelers dance.

I invaded a really noobish guy once in the township, just turned my back to him and when he tried to bs I'd just turn around to face him, he was so scared that he would back up right away, this went on for a while. He tried to spam magic and I just dodged, he used up all his spells and I got tired so i finally fought him fair and destroyed him. It was fun toying with him though.

I'd already invaded that guy a few time before and taught him the meaning of fear so he was reluctant to try anything against me.

Let's see...

I implemented Berkut's Easter idea and did a weekend of invasions with an Easter Bunny getup and gave them Easter presents. Those who dared to attack were faced with the shame of dying at the hands of a bunny

Then I invited the whole community to a 4th of July BBQ. That was a long celebration dressing in red, white and blue with my themed pranks. I fought a guy with the crystal ring shield and a broken Trident I didn't have the stats to wield

I'm starting an Xmas event as soon as Thanksgiving ends here in the states. I'm hoping on getting a lot of people involved.

I was actually thinking of that too. Maybe a peddler princes covenant revival.
