Got my first &%$#er of an invader.

I was invaded in Catacombs, so I killed nearby enemies and waited for a duel.
When the Darkwraith saw me, he turned around and ran away. I chased after him a bit but lost him. So I moved to as open of an area I could find and waited (path by second bonfire).
After a while of waiting I turned to move and he ran up and lagstabbed me. So I ran off for a bit and healed, came back and waited again. After a while of waiting I decided to move on with the level, and he back stabbed me again by Patches (while in Chameleon, which I thought was quite clever). So I back off aaaaand...
He just waited by Patches. Throwing stuff at me occasionally, which I lazily dodged. More time passed, I let him pelt me with Dung Pies so I could "beckon" him, but there he waited, RIGHT BESIDE PATCHES.

Realizing what he was doing, I kept my distance. Waited, beckoned, ran away, came back, but he was intent on being a &%$# (trying not to swear, I just read forum rules again). So after a while I just stopped the game, 'cause it was going nowhere. But the thing that really got me is he had to send insulting messages like "NOOOOOOOOB"
&%$# me, I miss Demon's Souls for fellow online players. So much more honour.

Do you all get experiences like this? I sincerely hope not.

Since I started hosting in the Forest I started getting hate messages. Last night was a funny one.. I was in the forest about 1am est. The only time I feel I can play since my wife took over the ps3. Anyway I get an invasion message so I go looking for the hunter and sure enough he used the chameleon spell to look like a tree.. If you haven't seen this trick used before it's usually a dead give away cause they are always darker then the other trees.

I go in front of him and bow to let him know he's not fooling anyone and the fight will begin…he doesn't move….I bow again….he doesn't move…I blast him with pyro…Now he's really moving and spamming WOTG…But he's a tank (full giants armor and swinging a zweihander and tuttling behind Havel's shield) I new this guy had to be taken out quickly if I could so I switched my weapons to Uchi + 15 and use DMB buff. The move set is quicker than the Mura I was using and could tag him every time he swung and lost balance. So I take him out..

A min later I get a message from him. Saying "You P***Y how are you going to attack someone when I'm hidden and can't defend myself..and learn how to fight with the weapons your using..only noob B***h player change weapon in the middle of a fight. I was laughing so hard at this clown I woke my wife,..man was she pissed.. So my response .was." Dear Ma'am obviously your panties are a little too tight… but feel free to put down a RSS and we can see about adjusting them for you.. His reply.."F_U whatever".. I laugh hard that night. Then cried listening to my wife yell at me..lol

Fortunately these kind of people and messages are far and few between.

I thought that was pretty funny, takes some skill for that guy to have survived so long trying to get the Giant killed.

I love making people mad and getting hate mail, one time in Demon Soul's I invaded this guy 5 times in a row with his two buddies and they were trying to reach and beat the boss in the Gargoyle world. He literally wrote me a 3 paragraph smack talking letter with numerous swears, it was hilarious. I took them out every time, kept knocking them off the edge. One guy even wrote me a poem regarding my PSN name, it was super funny, lost it though

Just ten minutes ago I got some hatemail for Chain BS'ing a guy while I was using Hornets ring. He of course called me a no skilled noob coward. Now, the reason I did this was because he bowed, then while I was bowing he started Spamming that Rapid Crossbow with Lightning Bolts, interrupting my bow and trying to go for a cheap kill. I ran away, used humanity, and equipped the ring, then went for the stab. People, can't live with them, can't live without them.

Ive gotten hate mail before someone BS me while if was bowing so I got pissed and use WOG and unleashed a furry of attacks and when he was trying to heal ran into Ais I BS him and before he could get up WOG then he send me a msg saying P***y I replied REVENGE

When I played Demon's I found most people were OK with losing from the better man. But in Dark Souls I find meeting these people ridiculously often. They HAVE to win, they HAVE to obliterate you no matter what the circumstances, and they throw a temper tantrum if they don't. It's so sad...

I stopped replying to hate mail until last night.


I invaded a guy in the painted world. He's in the round area with the stairs we bow and fight. I'm lagging pretty badly and he gets a bs right of the back and starts chipping away at me with the katana. I can't land a hit on this guy and I'm getting kinda mad. So I run off and heal. Douche move I know. I come back ready to get my *** kicked again just hoping to put up a better fight and get a hit off before the guy kills me because I haven't touched him yet.

So I walk back through the door and he throws me the "well what is it" which I hate with a passion. This compounded by the fact that he was wearing the mask of the mother which I hate with a passion. What did I do? Backstab. I use the hornet ring so I OHKO him.

He sends me a message saying "f***ingNoob" I tell him that if he hadn't of taunted that he'd have one. He told me I shouldn't have healed. I told him he shouldn't have let me. He then threw the typical just play the 1v1 man, its fun, blablabla, lagstabber. I just sent him "its dark souls bby<3" He stopped replying.

I've found most invaders/invasions to lead to really boring fights. Most times I try, the invader just keeps backing off and/or circling me so he can get in a back stab. If it's boring enough and I only have a few souls I've actually just allowed myself to get back-stabbed so I can move on with my game. If the invader's being a real jerk and standing off in the distance or keeps running away or circling, I've been known to turn off the system.

I figure if the guy's just being a jerk and exploiting the back-stab feature of the game then it's just as "ethical" to exploit the "quit game" function of the system.

I've also never had an invader bow or return a bow. Invasions are just a chore at this point.

Chore or not.... It's always fun to smack a guy with a stock weapon for a bit.... Then switch to a lightning/+15 and smack the **** outta that health bar

I did this the other day, invaded this guy and he just circled for minutes trying to get a backstab. Instead I go for one if he's going to act like that, so I'm directly behind him and hit R1 for backstab, he somehow ends up backstabbing me, love the lag. Then I do it again and apparently we backstab each other and take no damage. The third time I was behind him again and I'm the one being backstabbed. Next time I invaded him I just signed out, really irritating playing against people going for BS not to mention when they are lagging and I can't even get one off.

If duels are dinner then hatemail is dessert. I love answering eloquently and snooty until they use racial slurs, after that I win by flawless victory. 8)

Maybe I should try invading then! Maybe I'm being too moralistic about invading....even if it can really throw a player off, it's obviously part of the game. I just wish it had more "dignity" to it like PvP does. Dying from an invasion feels like falling off a cliff or getting shot in a game with bad control mechanics.....

I love it how, whenever I get in a hate-mail argument with anyone, the instant I invite them to put down a Red Sign I never hear from them again...

Unfortunately its something we just have to live with. If it can be used in the game then its fair game. Regardless of what I may feel about it or not. Which is mostly hate things like that. Especially the runners who invade and wait for help and the wrathers who have no other skill just using wrath.

On the other side I really have little patients for summoners who are just plain retarded. Those who even after playing the game multiple multiple times still get suckered into those old idiot forest tricks where the invader goes down the latter and spams wrath till you die in the water and similar tired old tricks that so called veteran elite players still continue to fall for. I say anyone who falls for this should have their Elite players membership card revoked for stupidity.

The game developers missed out on a good opportunity on setting up a better rewards system in my opinion. For each kill for fight depending on covenant the invader or player should be rewarded substantially. But if said player or invader plays with less skill then they should be stripped of so many covenant levels. Plus lesser souls if they took too long to kill someone because they decided to wait till another showed up, perhaps forfieting all souls in a victory. Higher ranks in covenants would be earned the hard way by actually fighting to earn your way to the top. Rewarding people who run then jump off the edge of the cliff to make their way down to the crystal golems and hydra and waiting it out until someone else shows up to kill the summoner should in my opinion never gain any souls what so ever. They should even lose covenant rank levels for that kind of behavour.

Also about 1 am or so I ran into some guy using dragon bone fists on both hands and playing half naked in the forest. Threw me a little off but I remember reading some message on the forum about some guy doing that. Unfortunately it did not end well for him. He must have been a low level invader because I hit him with a shot from avelyn and even at him being full hp it knocked him down to a quarter health. He then rolled toward me and did a parry swing thinking I was going to use my sword. So he gave away his hand too early and I used wrath. But he was smart enough to roll it unfortunately he rolled about three times straight back which was his mistake. I timed it and killed him by two handing artorias and catching him at the end of his roll. Took less then ten seconds to kill. Poor guy I dont think he realized he was facing a 710 fighter until it was too late. He happend to land one fist at me but it did no damage at all. Kinda felt bad....kinda. Well just my two cents on this.
