Kirk the knight of torns..

Wiki describe him as an "infamous" Darkwraith but his armor is found at the Chaos Witch when you defeated him all 3 times and thus indicating he was actually collecting humanity for the Daughters of Chaos and NOT the Darkwraiths.

Also pretty sure this have been confirmed in a (Japanese) radio interview with the developers (that he served the Daughters of Chaos) but I just can't find the source material again
Anyone else have info?

If he was known as a notorious Darkwraith, it would have been before he betrayed Kaathe and became a Chaos Servant. Supposedly he fell in love with Quelaag's sister, which prompted the betrayal.

Why don't people add this stuff to the wiki when they come across it. This is an interesting story!

No I think he was a Chaos Servant all along; he just became a darkwraith as a way of obtainig humanity.

Guess part of this is how you define and use the word "Darkwraith" I personally just assumed it refer specifically to members of that Covenant and not Dark Spirits in general but that might just be me :p

Also I'm complete newbie around here so really would not feel right to just go and edit stuff even if I could. (Can I? lol) Also I would not edit without proper source giving.

And yeah source on betrayal story, even if it just some personal interpretation of some ingame item description cause quite frankly that's where most lore come from anyway :p

That interview is great and offer small tidbits on a lot of stuff.

Interesting part about Solaire there, he is driven over the edge by finding the Sunlight Maggot, which is also what he is wearing if you find him as hollow. This also explains his comment at that time about "Finding his own sun" According to this you DONT really need to kill all the bugs there to save him you just need find the Sunlight Maggot before him.
Gonna specifically test this next time I pass through there.

Seriously this Game man...it makes you feel like a d*ck regardless of what you do .

Things like this make me wish there were more ways to corroborate speculation in Dark Souls...but Kirk and his involvement with the chaos servants is intriguing. Are there any other darkwraiths besides kaathe and kirk?

I killed the choas-spider-covenant-lady and still got invaded by Kirk and defeated him all three times. So I still got his weapons and armor.

But yeah, interesting story, though.

Well the Dark Souls universe is like an interconnected multiverse so... what you do in yours don't affect the outcome in others and Kirk is invading you from his world (and time).

And even if that wasn't the case, wouldn't he try to invade you repeatedly for revenge if you killed the Fair Lady?

I dont think so since you killed the reason for Invading you in the first place...

Uh, no? If the Fairy Lady is alive, you can argue that he invades to gather humanity for her, or to stop an intruder from harming her. If she is dead, you can argue that he invades for revenge because you killed the object of his love and devotion.

I dont think he would do that really .
He has a big enough Heart to care for the Fair Lady so i dont think he would indulge himself to something like revenge .
He would rather go Hollow and THEN attack you .

Sorry but i just like to think of Kirk as some kind of Saint

A multiverse setting (several parallel universes/timelines) would mean she can still be alive in his world and that the outcome of events can be different in each one much like they are in each players world. But the universes are interconnected so some events are shared and have consequences.

I see it something like this:
Defeating Kirk three times would mean he ultimately failed in his task of collecting enough humanity for his lady and still sustain himself. So after this his body end up dead in your world since you where instrumental in bringing about his downfall.

the only other dw npc i can think of is chester as if i remember correctly he mentions a certain serpent with a degree of familiarity... as for my view i figured kirk started as a darkwraith and originally went after quelaan for her large store of humanity, he is described as murderous but i still think the fair lady is enough to evoke pity and love in even the most twisted hearts, besides murder tends to promote psychosis and stuff like that so maybe he needed a mother figure...

A side note here lol I just noticed the info page on Kirk that may appear as loadscreen ingame refer to him as "infamus Darkwraith" Never noted that one before lol But I cant help but wonder if that is a translation error "Darkwraith" being confused with "Dark Spirit" as those are close but not the same. Anyone have a Japanese copy of game?

Btw is there any other reference to Kirk as "Darkwraith" than this info page?
