Strange armor sets you use for fun.

So just for fun's sake, I've decided to make a Catarina Knight and as I'm sure most of you know the Catarina Set is incredibly stange looking, I'm curious what sets people here on the forum use for no other reason than because if seemed fun or different.

I love the hollow thief and holy clothes, them both loom awesome imo. I still remember when EVERYONE was wearing the catarina armor when the game first came out.

Xanthous crown and Logan's diaper.

Helm of the Wise, Xanthous torso and Guardian gauntlets and leggings. They look badass, also i love the frill at the back of the torso. So sassy~

Crystal armor with crystal weapons and crystal magic. It's so crystally.

Also, Pharis's hat, witch's cloak, traveling gloves, and black sorcerer boots. It makes me look like a boss.

mimic head with smough legs with weapons in the offhand and shields in the main hand.

I'm a big fan of wearing Smough's helmet with a smaller piece of torso armor. It looks really ridiculous.

Actually Smough's leggings are pretty great with mismatched armor too. My club build is actually pretty funny ascetically. He uses the Sack, Chainmail armor, Smough's gauntlets, and Smough's leggings. The combo is pretty great. I also kinda like to do the Hollow Soldier armor paired with Logan's magic undies. That's a good low level Pvp combo. Maybe topped with one of the little Sorcerer beanies, or perhaps the Royal Helm

I do that reversed plastic, full Smough's with a tiny helmet like the Giant's Helmet. Or Smough's with Ornstein's. It looks like my guy is wearing gold shoulder pads.

I love the armored bare feet on the Smough's set. Something about it makes me very happy.

I was laughing so hard at this set when I first made it, then I won against the Four Kings.

It never happened again.

Throw Smoughs helm on just about any other set of armor and from the front it looks pretty funny, like some kind of ridiculous god from an ancient religion.

Catarina set with Chester's Hat. looks kinda like fat official from DeS. I'll even throw on a catalyst so i can cast aural decoy for the laugh sound. fun stuff :-P

I remember the first time I invaded a game wearing the bloated sorcerer head and crimson robe. The dude must not have played the DLC. Just turned and ran the other way without swinging his sword once.

I just had kind of a funny experience with silly armors. I'm using my tank and I don't have access to real heavy poise armors yet, so I'm wearing the Boar head, and a mix of Elite Knight and Balder stuff, with the Balder chest piece. It's not too too crazy looking, but enough that'd I'd include it here. So I got summoned in Blight Town at the bonfire, for the Quelaag fight, and when I come out I see the host is using literally the exact same set up I am. What are the odds of that? Exact same armor, except he was using a different mix of Balder and Elite Knight, same weapons, and same shield. So I come out and he waves, so I wave. Then he bows, so I bow. So he starts kicking the air in front of me, and I turn around and start mirroring everything he does, in the same direction he does it. Like I followed him around for probably 15 minutes matching every movement he was doing from like 5 feet behind him. He knew it too, and clearly thought it was funny also, because he started doing some crazy stuff. So in the middle of all of it he summoned another phantom, who summoned, watched us for a couple minutes, then BSCed out without so much as a gesture of explanation. Cracked me right up.

I think its stats are decent. It's not the best, but it's not awful either.

Also, silver knight shield looks good with it.

The stats are roughly on par with the Elite Knight Set at +9, so I guess you're right that it's not THAT bad.

Personally I like to combine it with the Giant's Helm. Looks pretty neat.

I sometimes like to wear really ugly armor combos because it gets my guys summoned faster for some reason. My current favorite:

-- boar's helm, gough's chest, havel's gauntlets, smough's leggings (makes you look like a huge freakish ogre, great poise though)
