Re: League of Legends
Seems like smurfs are an unavoidable blight. Though I personally would never take out my frustrations on anyone else just because I was better at a certain video game than they were. Seems like a very reduced world-view for one to have.

The problem is that the skill curve is so slight that skilled players don't realize certain things have become a skill to them. There are so many nuances to things like strategizing with your team and accurately predicting where opponents are that are just gradually picked up by playing game after game. Since these types of skills aren't explicitly taught, some veteran players forget that these things aren't just natural skills and so chastise newbies for not having these "learned instincts." Kinda like Guitar Hero, you don't realize you're getting better, yet you are.

Re: League of Legends
Dark Souls is a bit similar in some ways. Sometimes you forget most people can't parry in PvP.
A hero always came to my mind back in the day in that regard, Master Yii. A personal favorite of mine. At low skill levels he is a beast because of his high DPS and mobility. Though at high skill levels, he's sort of a laughing stock. If you lock Yii down he is killed incredibly easily, as well his abilities aren't as useful for positioning.
But if you make a smurf and play as him, you'll most likely dominate. The same can be said for Tryndamere with his ulti.

Well, I thought I'd attempt to revive this thread 'coz I've been playing a lot recently. I've got Reaper friended, and we played a few matches together last night. You have pretty great timing on that ult, I have to say.

Re: League of Legends
Wow major Necro, but I need a new group to play with on the weekends when I'm home (college and stuff...ya know.))
I can fufill most roles well except jungler (I'm alright now the best though). I maybe a little rusty (except I played two weeks ago with drunk friends and managed to 12/5).
Twisted Fate is my favorite champion he is just too awesome to pass up.

Well, Fiddlesticks is the closest thing I have to a "main" champion. Been playing him since I started the game, so I've gotten pretty good at knowing how to use it
I feel like I didn't get to see you at your best though, what with having that other Tryndamere kinda rolling all over our faces and making it tough for us to do really anything :|
You're Kayle was pretty awesome though, I don't see many Kayle players

Re: League of Legends
Log on LoL, your champs cannot harm me, locking in ahri - 2 rings of end start the game off. Foxfire and preservation... Burst damage the crap out of people. Unfortunately lost my level 30 acc, so I suppose I will be playing as malphite on my new one... Until I get Ahri. Snipe with Q, I win - now go QQ xD

I never could really "get" Twisted Fate. I found it a bit awkward to use the Pick A Card system in any reactionary kind of way, and I'm no good at champs where you have to plan ahead (Orianna, Zyra, Syndra, etc). There's also too many things for his ult to do for me to understand if I'm using it to it's best. Do I use it for scouting, do I use it to escape, do I use it to chase, do I use it to engage, etc?
As a side note, assuming your summoner name for LoL is the same as your forum name, I see you play mostly Co-op vs AI. Not really into the PvP games, are you?

Re: League of Legends
I play co-op because everyone else on my friends list is busy, and I just try to keep my skills sharp..or just be silly. Just passing the time when I'm not doing other stuff.
Use it for whatever best suits you. I've used it to GTFO, I used it to discover hidden suprises, gank, inform my teammates, and just be everywhere. I'm now going to advertise a site called Mobafire, has plentay of guides for everyone to use. Just go with the well recommended on the site.

Re: League of Legends
I'm skeptical of guides, to be honest. I typically only use them to get an idea of rune pages and skill orders for new champions I'm trying out, or maybe a few items that may be traps for new players that I should avoid buying. I never read a whole guide because someone else's way of playing a champ may not be best for me on that champ.

I just took a break and played a Coop vs AI game on Singed. 600 MS is slightly OP...

Quarik, also rather obvious. I play everything except full tanks and support. Most frequently Vayne, Kayle, Singed, and Cho'Gath.
