Sequel Or Prequel?

What do you think it is? A sequel or a prequel? Or do you think it is at the same time as the Dark Souls?

I personally think it is a sequel because one of the screenshots reminds me of firelink shrine, but ruined. You can even see the bridge to the bridge with Domhall on it. Also, the guy in the trailer says you are without light which seems like a head not to the age of dark.

Definitely looks like a sequel to me, but who really knows?

Sorry, I know I should've named it properly, but cut me some slack, it was my first thread on the forums.

Out of simply wishful thinking im gonna say prequel

You forgot the 4th option. None of the above.

Prequel, seems to look more to me of the actual times when the fire gods, Gwyn, had power.

A prequel seems likely because the bridge we see in the trailer looks extremely similar to the one in the Painted World, except this one isn't broken. This could mean we get to explore the Painted World at an earlier date, or that we can explore a different part of it. We may also find out how Velka's rapier and armour set ended up in the Painted World (assuming that's where it is).
I want to think that the woman in the trailer is Velka herself but she has brown hair whereas Velka herself had black.

^Totally agree with this statement.

"Forever without light" - for me this implies we are in the Age of Dark, the Age of Men. Also, there are only humans in this trailer - apart from the dragons.

BUT, the fact that dragons play such a big part in the trailer keeps me thinking about the age before the Gods when they ruled.

Also, the artwork on the hero's helmet gives even more emphasis to the dragon theme.

Anyone else notice this?

Also, nice point about the "Forever without light", could be telling us that it actually is a sequel.

This will be interesting, From has never taken a souls game and made a game in the same timeline since it seemed the story was secondary. Good point though with the dragons.
