The Painted World

Is the painted world actually velkas world or is it a painting of what used to be hers or what

I guess that's debatable. It's made by someone names Ariamis, as the title "painted world of Ariamis" states. But who the hell that is is unknown too i think.

We've done a good deal of speculation (see: too much) and that ^ is as definitive as you can get from game info.

I always assumed that the world itself was called Ariamis, not the painter.

So did i, but Priscilla mention that Ariamis is the painter. She says something like "do you not see why Ariamis created this world?"

I can conjecture more on Ariamis since there's a little evidence floating around besides that quote but again.....that ^ nailed the only concrete info in game.

"Why could thou not let us be?
Didst thou not see why Ariamis created this world?"

To be precise.

if dark souls 2 turns out to b a prequel(which i think it is going to be) we might get to see him or fight him even.
