3 hits? Wow, I haven't actually fought against Gwyn ever since I downloaded the DLC and I haven't even touched the dark magic in it (although I know it's powerful). I might have to do a INT playthrough on NG+ with dark magic just to see how well it goes.

Whenever I try dark magic on Gwyn he just pulls some crazy body spasm jump dodge thing...

I've killed him with point blank range Dark Beads as well. Two castings stuns him (as is the case with most bosses) and I killed him in no time. He didn't even manage to counterattack, so I almost felt bad about it.

My first one mostly missed so it was like 2 and half. He's getting parried or he's get DB'ed, man it sucks to be Gwyn.

Incidentally, you can also three-shot Smough with Dark Bead. Kind of funny to see the proverbial faces of my summoners when my SL30 char downs Snorlax in no time.
