You realize you got down-repped, but don't know when, where, or why it happened so you start going through every recent post trying to find the culprit. I don't even care about the reputation, but my curiosity won't let me stop until I find the post. I can't be the only one, can I? Or maybe I am

Trust me, you're not. I personally couldn't care less about rep yet I've managed to achieve a rep of over 200, go figure?

But I've seen many people complain about there not being a method with which to find out who or at least which post caused you to go down in rep. Personally, I don't think it's needed but I'm sure you'll find your allies.

I've searched like 30 threads, I'm just going to stop before I go hollow.

Forum rep.

The only use it has is when you start caring about it it means your need to get laid.

I went through the 18 pages on your profile of recent posts, that's something like 257 posts of yours, I saw no negative rep unfortunately so I can't point you in the right direction. Topics created gave no results either, sorry bro. I know that feeling, sometimes people make troll accounts just to rep me down since I'm a big target. I've lost probably around fifty to sixty rep like that. But you just have to brush it off, and be thankful for the giant ego inflating amount of rep you currently have.

You have no idea how often I get depressed by the things I see on this forum Sloth, so don't feel alone.

Sloth trust me when I say its probably not even a recent posts. Sometimes when I go back searching for old stuff (like 6 month old stuff) I wil find random negs on posts that really dont deserve them. We unfortunately have rep trolls here.

I don't care much for rep because I'm in Off-Topic the most however I have been negative repped once. It still drives me a little bit... crazy because I don't know what has gotten negative repped. I just want to know what I posted that was wrong so I don't post it again.

Off-Topic rep doesn't count so maybe that's what Grin means. Maybe he got downrepped in Off-Topic.

If you are repped in off topic it goes on your counter in your statistics but your rep number doesnt change.

lol thanks, but really??? Damn, I guess some people have nothing better to do.

The rep system can be a bit skewed. Some people down rep you just for the hell of it and others get an up-rep for the most inane comments. It used to bug me when some people got a + just for putting their name up there but now I realise that they need the affirmation of their peers because in the real world they haven't found their way yet. This forum is all they have, the only way they can gain recognition and be somebody, albeit in a virtual world.
