I have been putting my sign down in darkroot to help people with Sif and invaders. 3 times today for some reason, I have randomly been summoned as a dark spirit or a spirit of vengeance. I am in the Way of the White, so I have no access to the darkmoon or cat covenant rings. Why have I appeared as a blue phantom at random? I have had the game for 3 months now and this has never happened.

I had that happen to me once in the Depths; only thing I did was put my sign down twice really fast, then I went off to farm for humanities. When I was summoned, I appeared in the same spot as my summon sign, but was summoned as a red phantom. No idea why that happened. Maybe some kind of timing problem where they're getting invaded at the same time and some unsafe threads were programmed? That'd be my guess. That they made an assumption in their programming that in certain situations isn't true.

Maybe some kind of server error due to weird sign placement or timing.

I've been summoned in different areas just to get the text "by rite of kindling you can now further kindle bonfires". And then be send back to my world.
