I believe Zephs is simply the act of dying in human form, perhaps to an invasion. The loss is humantity and the ring of sacrafice could prevent that loss (though it is fragile)
While Rynns is a bit murkier and I'm on painkillers but the shield of ashen knights, Crystals, Chaos, Gall. Old tombs. The caves where you fight seath, the bed of choas the four kings who sougt to usurp(that's a lot of Gall!) and the tomb of nito Are the location you aquire lord souls.
These Brightly Burning souls are seen one last time literally being "dropped" into the lord vessel in order to open the path to the kiln.

Is the answer obtaining the lord souls to fill up the lordvessel?

Honestly, that doesn't matter that much to me.
The experience of trying to figure it out is the good part.
No matter what the answer is, the amount of thinking and studying of the DkS lore I've done because of this riddle is the equivalent of going to some sort of DkS academy and getting a degree in DkS.
So don't worry about the answer not being good enough or anything. It's going to be so obvious I'm sure. I can't wait to find out thought.

this got me thinking again

Okay, since I'm going to be giving out the answer to my Riddle tomorrow (Provided nobody solves it before then) I think people have a choice...
Choice 1) We use Rynn's riddle as the "Official" riddle, and solve hers before any more get posted
Choice 2) I post the new Riddle I made, in the hopes that one gets solved.
Choice 3) We descend into a world of chaos and anarchy, slowly sectioning off the survivors of the world into small societies who worship their favourite Riddle's as Gods, before inevitably descending into war until only one remains.
