Dark Souls has references to London?

I was trying to find a connection between Anor Londo and New Londo, because I thought it would explaine the lore behind the Large Flame Ember. (Yes, I know it's nerdy.)

1) I found out Anor = Sun in Sindarin, a made up elfish language in The Lord of The Rings.

2) Londo refers to about a dozen diffrent people and a few bussinesses. However, it is an actual word. It is a misspelling of the word London. It even appeared in a few historical documents.

I was still trying to find another definition for Londo when I found this.

Did From add a few London references in the game?

Probably just really good coincidences.

That sig you have still freaks me out sometimes.

So far I can't find anything else that would be a London reference.

Considering all the other references we've found (or imagined), I would say there is a distinct possibility there are references to London in the game.

Emergence's linking lore thread is chock full of examples of these kinds of references. I wouldn't put anything past From as far as where the inspiration came from.

Not sure it's a reference to London, so far everything you've mentioned is either too vague or too much of a coincidence.

Londo = London. I confimed this on a few sites after a few hours of searching.

Lloyd's Talisman = Lloyd's of London, the British insurance market. (You "ensure" your win by preventing the host from healing. LOL)

I thought Anor Londo was explicitly supposed to be based on the Cathedral of Milan.

In one of the Gundam shows there was something called the "Londo Bell." Does Londo have some special meaning in Japanese or is it a transliteration of London?

Is that 2nd photo the cathedral in Milan? That looks exactly like anor londo.
