Scythe build help

So I came back to dks to brush up before dks2 drops.

With the new change to the DWGR it ruined my lifehunt build, I'm trying to salvage it though.

I mainly invade in dueling areas as a DW.

The build atm looks like this

SL-120
vit-45
end-40
str-16 (to 1h the lifehunt)
dex-50

Spells- 1 of both great combust and black flame

Armor/weapon set
- No helm
- Lord blades robes
- Gauntlets of Artorias
- Guardian legs
- Havel ring/wolf ring

As for weapons/shields I have two options
Either GS+crest shield or Lifehunt+Heater shield
I can't mix and match these because of the 1 point of equipload
Will make me lose fast roll.

Why this set?
It puts me at 78 poise while keeping fast roll

Are there any armor options I can swap around to keep the 77 poise break and gain maybe 1-2 more to my equipload?

I'd like to use the thorn gloves to help prevent lagstabs but it throws the build off by a point or two for EQload.

My old build I used a lot of the black iron set for high bleed resist but that doesn't seem like an option anymore.

Furthermore id like some advice for fighting certain things using this build. I'm having a few problems.

1. Katana or scythe users - If I use lifehunt I bleed myself out too fast because I no longer have the high res from iron set, and katanas/scythes are building my meter as i'm also building it...problem.

2. How to fight spear users/people who spam rolling thrust with certain swords. Both spears and rolling thrusts are verry hard to parry
At best I tend to just trade damge with them...its in my favor unless they are using a buff like dmb...which ofc they are. Same goes for katana users who only use running thrust or rolling sweep with a weapon buff..rather cheesy.

Id much rather stay with the lifehunt over the GS if possible.

Only the lifehunt scythe and lifehunt dagger build up your bleed meter. All other weapons don't(although the chaos blade inflicts 20 damage to yourself per hit.

You probably should have stopped at 40 dex.

Guardian legs are weaker in weapon defense compared to any other heavy, fully upgraded armor. Artorias gloves are weaker than most other armor that weigh the same.

Because bleed requires you to hit ALOT, I'd go with grass crest shield.

Anyone else have ideas on how I can change up my armor while keeping the poise break or tips on the above mentioned dueling problems.

For swords kite them or rollbs/parry

for spears let them attack you and punish it, you can usually safely trade with spears, and their habbit of dodging out of attacks will fall prey to unlocked 2hr1 combos if you time it well.
