neither summoning nor being summoned

Hello,

I wanted to try this for the first time. I'm human with highlighted "00" in the upper left.
I have the white stone (also a red one). I shose the stone for use but only a "no" sound is to be heard. I'm in Anor Londo at the moment and here at the bonfire the knight solaire was sitting (the one who gave me the white stone). But now he is gone! Ist my level to high (87)?

You are a bit over-leveled for anor londo co-op. Try going to the Duke's archives when you can.

It sounds like you are off-line.

Is the white soapstone "grayed out" or darker than your other quick items?

Double check that you are logged in to playstation/xbox network.

Is there any orange signs around with messages, usually an indication if your online.

1st is the boss dead? If you are trying to use the red or white stone and people are invading you, it will cancel the summon sign you placed down. Try using the white stone without a body(you don't need a body to get summoned as a white phantom)

Ok, I know what I did wrong! I thought I have to use the stone at the bonfire since Solaire also was sitting there and waiting for me for being summoned by me.

Now I'm standing at the front of the fog gate to O&S an now I can place my call sign at the flor.
My question is: How long does it take to get invited? What do I have to do or what can I do until I get summoned?

And why Solair is gone away from the bonfire now?

Solaire just like to move around. He has a story arc you can follow that's pretty interesting. You'll likely see him again.

As for how long it takes to get summoned that can depend. My internet sucks so I might wait forever and not get summoned. Other nights, it's right away. Like was said above, you're a little over the normal level for the area which means most people who want help might not be able to see your sign.

You should be fine putting your sign down near the bonfire, really. Just put it closer to the door. I prefer leaving my sign there as people tend to need help going through Anor Londo itself, as the annex part with the confusing room layout and hordes of Silver Knights can be difficult.

Plus, new players sometimes over-level, so you might get some people needing you.

I had my sign on the flor next to the bonfire for over half an hour als nothing happend. I wanted to be invited for a fight against O&S since I want to collect some O&S experiance on my own.

Because I simply can not handle them alone.

The high 80s level is probably slowing things down a lot.

The time of day can have a big effect as well, late night, weekends are best.

Nice thing is you do not need to just stand next to sighn in that zone, you can fight all the way though the level, then use bone, drop sign again and repeat.
Cash in souls at giant blacksmith when you have a good amount.
That way you can muti-task and upgrade equipment while waiting for summon.

You may want to plow on through and get to Duke's 2nd fire for Seth or 4 kings. Co-Op moves fast around lev 90 there.
DLC zones seems to be about that level also.

Call in NPC Solaire for the O&S fight if no one is around for help.
2 vs 2 is way better than 1 vs 2.

You can always lordvessle-warp back later and get called in for co-op against O&S.

But he is gone! Where do I have try to summon Solaire? At the Bonfire or in front of the fog gate to O&S?
When I was in front of the fog gate to Quelaag and I was human "00" I automaticly saw the witches call sign but I didn't summoned her. But here with O&S I would appreciate a second helping hand..

You can always lordvessle-warp back later and get called in for co-op against O&S.

I thought a precondition to get the lord vessel is to beat O&S? Can I leave them out get somehow the lord vessel and later come back to them?

I have tried a few times alone against O&S but I always lost the battle!

You know the hall where the 2 giants sentries are before the boss, head up the steps where silver knight archer is\was. The summon sign is around there.

Right at begining of level there is a cristle halberd in treasure box next to one of the O&S statues.
If you do not have any buffed up weapons, that halberd does pretty good damage on them.

You can also take a quick backtrack to Sen's Fortress and buy green shards from cresfallen merchant to buff elemental weapons.
He is right near where the demons drop you off.

You mean, I could come back later in the game and do some fights with O&S by helping other players, right? Because If I have beaten them in my game it'll be over for me. Not possible do fight them again, right?

You can summon Solaire in the main hall before the boss fight. Opposite side you come from, the balcony like area on the opposite stairs ( kill the archer first)

I also have at least one character I can help with ( around your soul level), let me know when you'll be playing and I'll put my sign near the bonfire. Maybe we can co-ordinate.

Hello EeAyEss and Odinbear,

I'm in my game today at home from 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm CET (Berlin, Germany). Would that be possible for you?

But at first I still would like to try on my own against them scumbags!
But what I really wanted to try is to help others due to get some practice. But nobody seems to need my help.
In my first walkthrough I managed to beat O&S via spell casting since there I was a sorcerer (Intelligence 50). It was relatively easy.
Now I'm at level 85 (or something) and my focus attribute is Dex (35). Strength 25 and Condi 40. As a melee fighter I consider this much harder!

I can grab a character that hasn't beaten O&S and summon you. I don't know if I can get him that high of a level that fast... silly

I never have played with others online! But take your time, no pressure needed!

Question:
What is a reasonable level as a melee fighter to challenge O&S?

If you want to co-op in Anor Londo, you are much more likely to do it in the 45-65 level range. Your guy is kind of in no-man's land. Too high for normal game players and too low for new game plus.
