Mask of Mother gives a health boost. Mask of Child gives a stamina regeneration boost.
I guess this goes to the debate to wear items for appearance or performance. I don't think the Four Kings care how you appear if you OWN them. Okay, no one can own them. :-)

I know exactly what they do my friend, but I refuse to wear either. Also - Four Kings look SWEET. If they beat me wearing Masks of the Mother I would go to my grave laughing at them.

Actually I owned them, first try (if you dont count me falling to my death without the ring to Traverse...) on my first playthrough with 2 flasks left, and I wasnt even expecting them!

Personally, I find both masks to be a little creepy looking. I find the entire Smough set-up idiotic looking - made worse when people wear just the leggings with other armour. That set-up is the ultimate function over style decision.

I dunno. I think the leggings look good on a female character. The dark pants inside the armor is sweet. I'm more of a rear-end guy I guess, as apposed to those that love their... erm... 'double big weapons' (beware of amazing chest, weakness: try holding with two hands) . The toes are creepy though.
