Hmm. Imagine if you had to leave you gear behind to traverse a certain area blocked off by water, then after getting whatever items, lore, enemies, you have to make it back to your armor.
I know it's not exactly in the style of a Souls game, but I've always wanted that kind of realism in a game.
Another example of this could have been in DkS1, where by finding the lordvessel (which has to be heavy as @#$#. You would have to carry it on your back and walk slowly back to Firelink. Every time you face an enemy you would have to put the lordvessel down fight the enemies, pick it back up and keep going. I know alot of people would hate this, but I myself would love it.

That would ruin the whole point of the puzzle. A puzzle is somehting that you need to use your brain to solve, not something that the game tells you the answer to.
